I am quite confident my Ryzen 3600 / 2070S combo will manage the desired 1440p@60, certainly with DLSS enabled. I expect the additional ray tracing penalty to be quite severe yet again, so hopefully DLSS can mitigate it to hit my target. Though I am sure it will look perfectly fine without it.

I am deep into Children of Morta, most likely the first rouge-lite that I am going to see the end of. The runs have just the right length and variety. It really helps to simply pick the character with the lowest level and go. Clearly this is the way this is meant to be played, as the characters synergize in meaningful ways over time and consecutive use of the same character is actively punished (which some folks out there absolutely loathe). Audiovisual presentation is very nice and moody, though the pixel density could be a tad higher. Kinda rough, but very well animated.

I believe that Meridian is relatively harmless compared to some other poorly optimized areas. Rain is also a framerate killer despite looking rather simple. As for me:

So far it is running mostly fine and crashless in 1440p with a mix of ultra/high, holding the 60 FPS about 70% of the time, which makes the arbitrary dips under certain conditions all the more annoying. I am still fiddling around with the settings here and there, but the possible gains seem relatively low.

I am currently deep into Watch Dogs 1 on PC, main missions only. I needed a bridge to Horizon Zero Dawn so I got this for 6 bucks. And it's suprisingly okay? Sure, Aiden is an absolute milque toast of a character and up his own ass to the point of self-parody, but the rest is fine. I was also quite suprised how good this game still looks in WQHD given its age.

From the overall tone of the game, WD1 and WD2 (which I beat a while ago) could not be any further apart. In all honesty, I think I prefer WD1 over the sequel despite the botched main character.

I selected a few, but let me briefly vent about "boss rush": Don't just tack on a mindless boss conveyer belt to the end-game of your otherwise fine experience. It sucks, even if you add a wacky twist to distract from the fact that you ran out of ideas to increase the difficulty. Unless a game is explicitly designed around the concept -- which is not my personal cup of tea, but at least some thought went into those titles -- I think it is exceptionally lazy game design.

CHERRY Strait Exclusive Edition Testa Motari (just a regular Strait with a thin wood panel on top, really). I got it for relatively cheap a couple of years ago. The original asking prices were ludicrous.

Yeah, not a gaming keyboard as such, but works okay.

Well, wreddit is painting a very different picture right now. The gist is that Kairi was apparently concussed and Charlotte basically thought Kairi was no-selling her shit (the speculation goes off the rails as to the 'why'). From reading most of the comments over there, I am more in the camp of "fuck the refs/gorilla/WWE", personally. On the flipside, Becky and Asuka are currently hailed as the thoughtful vets who protected Kairi.

That said, it seems like this was a wreckless afair in general. Maybe the women really ought to turn in down one or two notches.

I am back into AC:Odyssey once again. This time, I changed my approach a bit to squeeze more enjoyment out of it:

• don't upgrade anything anymore, especially not legendaries
• wear whatever has the best stats no matter how silly it looks
• avoid the sailing stuff as much as possible
• pick whatever response (the morals in this game are fucked up anyway)
• if stealth fails, just screw it and go nuts instead of reloading
• embrace how dumb this game is

So far, this worked pretty well. Maybe I will finally see the credit roll one of these days.

I always got a kick out of the siege tanks in the original StarCraft. I slowly inched my way to many campaign victories with those things.
