Heads up that I've updated the unofficial Plex app to include the new Giant Bomb branding, and also fixed a bug that was causing the entire channel to crash with live streams (it still won't play them, but you can at least see when they're active now).

Getting live streams working is on my hobby list though! Maybe over the holiday break.

Weird side question, but which Plex plugin are you working on? I did an unofficial branch to get the old code working again here:

...and that version seems to work with shows fine since it's all API. If you're working on the official Plex client, let me know and I'll stop maintaining and redirect this over.

For those of you looking for minimal layout additions, here's a quick page you can jam into your existing layout that'll display the current Giant Bomb team total in the bottom right corner, updated every 60 seconds. Built for 720p, but it's pretty trivial to move around and scale.

While not strictly Extra-Life anymore, I wanted to let you guys know that Sarge Club is happening again this weekend (Oct 6th & 7th). We're going big and raising money across 150 games and two days, and we have a bunch of fun Twitch Plays experiments that'll be going on like Twitch Plays Sega CD and Arcade Battle Royale.

Having you all behind us for the last few years has been wonderful, and while we're raising money for AbleGamers this year instead of Extra-Life, we'd still love to have you come and watch our dumb antics.

There seems to be an issue with the Roku app again - a lot of the new (GBWest mainly) videos constantly buffer every 5-30secs. It doesn't seem to be entirely hardware based, since Roku Plex + direct video playback on a fixed up version of the Plex channel plays fine.

The Roku app seems to be super rough these days and I wanted a way to access my premium content in other non-Roku rooms, so I grabbed the source for the old Plex plugin that was delisted and made it functional with the latest site changes:

It's a quick and dirty fix, combined with a main menu layout change to be more useful (categories go under their own menu item, and the main menu is focused on live/recent content), but it should be functional enough if you want to use Plex to watch videos.

Stuff that's still busted: live streams don't work, it's fetching way too many videos per page for slow hardware (raspberrypi-level) to deal with, it's still the hardcoded categories of the old Plex app.

Edit: okay, I found some extra time to return less items per page to help performance, and get the new show list and show art.

I've also been getting the loud static green screens of death over the last few days on a new Roku Stick, hard locks the stick too. It's frequent enough that it's pretty much impossible to watch a full video :(
