While on the subject, am I misremembering Mass Effect 2 or did Dr Chakwas get breast implants ?

I wouldn't be surprised, considering what they did to Ashley.

I'm starting to think I'm the only one who's not upset with what they did to Ashley. I consider her new look a central part of the story. When she first shows up in the game she has just came out of a meeting with the Alliance Committee. Most people in the type of occupation Ashley is in tend to try and clean up when going before some form of government. So she let her hair down for the meeting and applied make up. Unfortunately game models probably will never be realistic, because if they were then we would be back to ME 1 Ashley as soon as she hits the battlefield. You can't exactly apply your mascara while getting shot at you know.

I don't know man, I think they just re-designed her so kids could jack off to her. Miniskirts, boob-jobs, let-down hair and botox aren't what I call getting ready for a governmental position.

It really depends how you look at it personally. There is not denying that Bioware redesigned her to have a bigger sex-appeal. It says so in the Art-book when you look at it. When I play the game I choose to focus more on the story. In my opinion I would like to think that Ashley always looked like that if she let her hair down and put make up on; however, if you're looking at it merely from a design to appeal to an audience standpoint then all you are going to see is what you described.

It's starting to pick up since my session last night. There was a particular scene with Grunt last night that was just really awesome. At first I was "GAH DANGIT! NO NOT GRUNT!" and then I was like "F*$#% YEAH GRUNT!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!"

Also hearing Mordin sing again was awesome. "I am the very model of a scientist salarian!" :P

I have mine coming Firday or early next week (in the UK) and honestly knowing my shepard might not import properly is fine by me.

In my game he changed every time relative to the feelings and person he needed to be. In the second game I aged him a bit, shaved his hair and made him look generally worse as in my mind he had just come off dealing with Ashley's death and his now disconnect with everyone he once knew forced into joining Cerberus.

And in ME3 I am going to make him look like he picked himself up over the course of ME2 and generally looks more charming with the knowledge he learnt of how people in the Galaxy are.

So honestly I was going to change it anyway so it doesn't bother me personally. Yet, I do find it kind of shitty - I would have at least wished they had said beforehand "Quick warning: if you have a ME1 looking character beware it might not import the look; we will try to fix this problem and it shouldn't cause massive problems but we cannot count on it working perfectly on the day of release" or something like that (even though that would kind of be counter--productive to sell the game, I think it could have helped spread out the backlash so we don't have all this hate on the contents of the game on release and instead it would have allowed those that cared to deal with it beforehand and not risk the chance of huge dissappointment with pre-orders).

I did something similar to my Shepard, but when I decided that my Soldier-Shepard would clean himself up for ME 3, I honestly did not expect that the end result would end up looking like this:

I'm enjoying it so far. I actually tried out narrative mode considering I cared more about the story, but it's too ridiculously easy. It's stupid easy. I found myself bumping it back up to normal, so in case things get too difficult I'll only go down to casual. Only a couple of irritations right now really. Main one being the fact that the Alliance gutted my ship. Sure the poker table is nice, but come on! I'm tripping over cables when I"m on my way to take a leak! :P

Also my mass effect 2 face import with the few modifications I preformed looks a hell of a lot like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

It was relatively short to be honest, but there was some pretty funny dialogue between the Prothean and Liara.

The face import sounds like a bit of a disappointment, but that makes me think that maybe that's a good thing. When crafting my Mass Effect story I thought about the setting of the story. Shepard had been burnt up in an atmosphere and spent two years in a clean lab on an operating table. When I first came up with my Shepard in ME 1 he had hair, but I thought that maybe if he spent time being monitored in a lab they would more than likely keep him fairly clean cut. So my Shepard who once had a head of hair was suddenly shaved. I think that maybe by the time ME 3 rolls around my Shepard would have had the time to grow his hair back. When you are designing your Shepard's face you either have to accept a pre-determined face or create a completely knew one.

To me making the story of Mass Effect seem more real would mean Shepard changing as well.

I wouldn't really call mine a perfect run even though I managed to save everyone. There were like a couple that weren't loyal to me. Of course I don't know if loyalty will matter or not in ME 3

If you have time to do it. You can get the PS3 version with most of the DLC except for the appearance packs and Arrival DLC for around $20. I have a save file that I can transfer myself, but I'm not sure if I will or not. I don't think the save transfer does much more than reflect some of your major decisions and starts you out at a higher level.
