Great write up. I had a similar time with it. Its basically just a constant stream of little dopamine hits, you're constantly getting new quests to level up your forms, which are often just "use this ability in this weird way 20 times", which can be interesting and fun to figure out, and getting a new form is always exciting. I think you did miss out on mentioning how fun exploring the world is! The overworld map has just a TON of stuff in it- towns, side dungeons that don't make sense, little puzzles, story dungeons, there are collectibles to find.... It's all a little reminiscent of a Zelda map, and it's just SO wonderful to discover. And yeah. A new unique boss or two would have been nice.
@sakuno: the writing definitely gets better, though I'll let you decide how much better. I sure loved it, but maybe there's more good writing since then so it may not stand out? I hope it still stands out.
I am SO excited for this, and kinda dreading it too tbh
@zombiepie in the bit about Suikoden Successor Eiyuden Chronicle, did you mean Unsung Story perhaps? Kickstarter billed as a spiritual follow up to FF Tactics, but in development hell?
@cocowawa: Do you mean when talking about users on the site? Zombiepie doesn't know the gender of users based on their handles, so uses they. It's correct.
@zombiepie: Hey I think the Caravella Method in Bioforge specifically refers to picking up a particular two items at once and saving 2 minutes.
