What about making the Bombcast more structured, thus shorter? Then have a immediate member access to a new show featuring a wider range of Whiskey personalities that's more random ass stuff. Then that show gets delayed. Kinda like a delayed version of the "after hours" podcasts that Filmspotting or /film do That seems easier from a production standpoint, rather than having to split up the Bombcast as it is. 
 
I understand people getting pissed about the split. One of the very first things stated once the membership thing was brought up was that the existing content delivered would not be changing for free users. They are changing that, immediate access to the sites most popular podcast is no longer available to free users, and I'm kinda disappointed by that.  I would have rather seen them put in additional content rather than modify existing content. (which they seem to be working on)
 
That said, I completely understand wanting to do a membership subscription model instead of heavier advertising. Especially considering the history of how the site's employees came to work here. I get it, they need a revenue stream, and the bombcast is probably the biggest carrot they have to entice memberships from users. I just wish they would have handled it a bit better in modifying it.
