Things have been progressing alone relatively smoothly however I have run into Giant Bomb limiting the amount of downloads per day so this part of the project is going to roughly take 150 days to complete.

In the meantime I am moving onto older Gamespot content however, and very unfortunately, most of this older stuff is now inaccessible and not online anymore so I am going to have to track down as much as I can find on YouTube.

If anyone out there has access to or backups of old GameSpot content and they would like to contribute it would be great if you could reach out to me either via this thread or DM

@mendelson9: Do you still have access to the original downloads of these files?

Over the past week I have been backing up videos featuring Ryan for a project I am working on and these past few nights I have started receiving error messages after I have downloaded about 1-2 pages worth of content. These "error messages" are my intended downloads being replaced with the "error message" video files with Jeff doing the VO.

When I come back the next day (around 24 hours later) these videos are again accessible. This has happened 2-3 times now and I think I might be seeing a pattern.

Has anybody experienced similar issues or are they aware of any information surrounding what I am experiencing?

Oh Bradley, still failing to disappoint about disappointing (in re to the *ahem* RE knife moment).

Anyway thanks for the feedback. I agree, with what I perceive to be the general sentiment; that they are reflective of the general state of the site and the reason why they may feel as if they have "dropped off" a bit is due to the changes with the site not specifically the content being selected.

I would like to chat more about that as well however that will go off-topic, probably turn a bit negative and then come back around to Ryan's passing so perhaps that is a conversation better left to another day.

Is "Best of Giant Bomb" still bringing it in your opinion?

I remember before it became part of the site, beat for beat and joke for joke I felt the perfect moments were picked. I literally needed to stop watching them because it was spoiling all the best moments of the site.

Update:

After sorting through Giant Bomb's videos and only backing ones that featured Ryan this started to seem like a waste, so, things have changed for this part of the project. Going forward I will be backing up all Giant Bomb video content from the site and just filing the Ryan ones away on their own as they come down.

This will take awhile...I am trying to do about 1-3 pages per day however I will try to step it up a bit.

Update:

Working my way through Giant Bomb. One video at a time, anything with even a brief appearance by Ryan, even him heckling off camera, is being included.

This is going to take awhile!
