Oh really? I wouldn't of suspected so considering just how poor the load times were for me on my first playthrough on 360 even with the game being installed on my system.

Just installed it, the film grain effect isn't as pronounced as it was in ME1 or ME2 imo, but I'm not the keenest of eye.

Just wanted to give people a heads up that it is indeed possible to get your Xbox 360 save from ME 2 to import into the PC version of ME 3. Though it does involve moving your save off you HDD and onto a USB.

http://www.gamefront.com/mass-effect-3-how-to-transfer-your-me-2-save-from-xbox-360-to-pc/

There is a link to the article, I have already done it and I can confirm that the process works and you will still be able to put the save back onto your 360 and import your character there as well.

In case any of you have an SSD drive like me I can tell you that it make a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference, especially if you, like me, systematically travel from floor to floor to speak with your crew mates after each mission. I made my first playthrough on 360, but I am doing my second on PC right now and the load times are incredibly quick. Having to go from floor to floor is hardly a bother, same goes for traveling back and forth on the Citadel and moving from War Room to the bridge.

Anyways, hope this is helpful to people who might be interested.

TeamLiquid.net has a great guide to building a PC thread where you can submit your budget and expectations and great some great info on it. Like others are saying $1200 is gonna get you a pretty high end rig. You might not be running a x79 mobo with an intel 3960, but an overclocked 2500k is all you need for gaming. If you are streaming or doing some video/picture stuff the 2600k might be worth it for you for the hyper threading, but the 2600k is pointless for games alone right now. I would wait until the new Nvidia cards come out though. If you have to buy now I would go with a 7950 if you want to go high end as it is $100 cheaper than the 7970 I believe and it can overclock to beat out the 7970 at stock. If you don't want to spend $400+ on a GFX card go with the 560ti 448 or the GTX 570. Whatever you do go with a one card solution though. Building a rig for SLI or Crossfire is silly unless you are going bleeding edge. Buying 2 560 ti's instead of 1 580(or decisions like this) cause they are cheaper and out perform the 580 is short sighted as the money you save on the cards you lose in having to buy a motherboard that supports to PCI express slots that run 16x twice and don't power down to 8x twice, and that's a hefty bump in the price of mobo, not to mention the benefit of being able to sli down the road opposed to already being on sli.

LOL at people who say people don't get Motherships so why nerf them.  Mothership in late game is extremely viable and practical late game against all races.  Against Zerg it should of been a staple of any protoss player's army late game.  Stalkers with blink targeting down overseers can turn the tide of a battle so ridiculously that a Zerg's army will have next to no cost effiency(something they already struggle with late game).  Also of course there is Kiwikaki's blink snipe mass recall strategy that is very strong.  While I don't like the vortex nerf I can understand it.  Against Zerg you could literally win the game with 1 vortex.  Often times in PvZ the P player wants to got Colossus/VR which already involves a stargate so once their 3rd base gets up drop a fleet beacon and pop out a mothership.  During your build towards a 3rd base(a key base against Zerg) protoss often go DT for harass.  So access to both Motherships and Archons come naturally in longer games.  Zerg players currently favor mass Lair tech against Protoss and none of those units can survive a toliet.  A real Archon toliet had the potential to kill a entire 200/200 zerg army in 1 shot with like 1 vortex and like 32 fewd worth of Archons lol.  While it didn't happen to often the potential is kinda silly.  Even still without Archons putting the opponents army in a vortex and have 6+ Collosus outside waiting for free 30x6(+possible upgrades) across every units in the vortex is super strong too.

I know personally my entire strategy in PvZ revovles around making the game go as long as a can to build up an army of pure Stalker/Colossus/VR with a Mothership because the efficiency of that army v Zerg is ridiculous.

Anyways post is prolly tl;dr, so whatever.  Don't like the amulet removal, I suspect that does not go past ptr, at least a nerf to that extent, maybe 20 Energy so they can't insta storm, but at the same time are close enough that as a Protoss you can actually get them before you have 3-4 secure bases without fear that the terran army engages you while 900 gas worth of army is basically waiting to become viable against non energy using units.  If they are gonna nerf amulet that hard though I think they should go SC1 style templar in that both dark and high can be accessed through 1 tech structure.  That way you could use the DT's as a method to buy time for your high templars getting storm.

Fighting games and their community are derived from the arcades, or nowadays get togethers outside of one's personal house(unless hosting).  Arcades are an out of house social venue where as other than PC bongs/LANs the Starcraft community came from playing at the comfort of their own home.  Not to mention many other factors like one game is actually played on a PC making it more likely that its community is PC knowledgeable(leans towards streaming), one community finds online play to be a joke of no REAL merit while the other regularly holds high paying online tournaments(less leaving the house, more likely to develop habits of streaming).  The community dynamics make it no surprise that the fighting game community attends their events in person more.  If you counted stream viewers I bet Starcraft would be noticably higher than EVO.  If you have been to events for both these games you would instantly recognize the difference in personality the two communities have.

Despite my avatar I have spent WAY more time in the fighting game community btw so please do not believe that I harbor some sort of bias for Starcraft.

It's pretty funny, I put off playing my placement matches for almost 2 weeks to try and prepare myself playing only custom games for the most part.  I probably had only won at a 30% clip in the custom games and I would of been lucky to have ever won 2 in a row.  Finally I decided to man up and just do my placement matches and I won the first 3 in a row(a huge surprise to me) and lost the next 2.  I was placed into silver, and proceeded to go 50/50 for awhile until 1 day I went something like 2-7 or something really terrible and the next day I started 1-1 and got dropped into bronze.  From then on I moved my way up to 1st and been holding down the top spot.  I really want a second chance at silver, put me in coach, I can do it!
