Hmmm, looks like the game reviewer's official 7 to 10 rating scale carries over to rating food as well...

Haha, really nice job dude :D

As outdated as a $50 dollar season pass feels, I do think the long term health of the game will depend on how good the DLC they put out for it is. I might not like the model, but I bought BF4 premium and I do feel like I got my money's worth (mostly because it had new modes and vehicles besides just maps) and it kept me coming back. To kick it off, I think they're being smart to put out a free map tied into the movie in early December. Other than that, it just depends on if the gameplay will hold up or not. I personally don't think progression systems keep people playing anymore.

Btw, this thread mostly just reminded me how much I loved Titanfall haha... just started downloading the free DLC maps they put out so I can play it a bit tonight, thanks OP! To me thats the best case scenario for an older MP game. Somebody mentions Titanfall or TF2 or Battlefied 3 and you can still hop back in because a healthy enough player base is still out there for it.

@lawgamer: Yeah that seems like a fair assessment. Based on how much some people seem to love the lore of Rasputin (I guess from grimoire cards?) it definitely seems like they could do better than how they're currently using him. I guess now we know those early missions were in there to set up the old main plot of the game, just now it now doesn't go anywhere besides the "oh shieeeeet Rasputin's in trouble!" scenario you mentioned them using for a bunch of missions/strikes. Oh wellll... maybe blue hologram ladies are the only type of AI Bungie's really interested in :P

I know a lot of this was rumored, but its still fascinating to me to read a lengthy, well sourced article about it. There are a few "wow" quotes in there from Bungie sources. The quote on the tools stood out to me as well, if only because it casts some doubt on their ability to produce enough content going forward, which is concerning since that's the biggest single issue remaining with Destiny at this point to me...

I always assumed something went badly wrong in development because I found it hard to believe Bungie just forgot how to tell a coherent A to B to C story. I want to be fair because opinions of Bungie sources quoted in the article are mixed about the quality of the original story, but it certainly sounds like there would have been a lot more story in the original version (introductions before each mission and sizeable cut scenes after each) which I can't imagine being worse than what ended up in there. Also its a massive bummer that it's now confirmed the European Deadzone on Earth and the Dreadnaught were supposed to be vanilla content. Even with the messed up story I would have felt a lot better about my purchase of vanilla Destiny if that content had been in there. The article also makes continues to give me mixed feelings about Destiny going forward, apparently the Deadzone is going to be in Destiny 2 and while I'm sure a lot of work is going into it, it makes me uneasy to think people will still be spending money on cut content that long after the game is out.

I don't know enough about Destiny lore to make a judgement on the original idea for the story. Does the original story (trying to rescue the warmind Rasputin who has been imprisoned by the Hive on the Dreadnaught) appeal to anyone who's way into the lore of Destiny?

I missed the beginning of part two but that seemed pretty great as well. Finding the feather was great, forgoing using it was better, and I think he hit ALL the restarts/false exits?

The only small bummer is that he never tried the start of the underground section without flying past with a cloud, I just woulda been curious how tough or easy it was compared to the rest of the course, but no biggie. Great stream and great job Patrick!

@peezmachine: You put that into words way better than I could have, but I got the same feeling at those moments watching him play it. I have to say Dan (with input from Jeff and Brad) did a pretty good job of translating the chat's chaotic orders into playable sections of the level. I think some of it like the beginning of the underground is really messy, but those sections you called out are great. I love that he found the double trampoline solution to getting by Bowser instead of doing it the "intended" way, great stuff!

@jakob187: Same here, totally lost it there! I think it was his slow realization that got me. He moved around a bit like "hmm whats the way to get out of here" and then it dawned on him and he accepted his fate, great moment

So yeah, Patrick played the Giant Bomb/GB community made monstrosity earlier today. You can probably imagine how it goes but the link to the twitch archive is below if you care to see it for yourself, I thought it was really good!

I found it interesting to see someone play that level without seeing the stream of it being created (he claims he turned on the stream just long enough to see Dan spelling out "Police State" in coins then turned it off to experience the level fresh haha... which is a pretty perfect level of prior knowledge to have imo). For such a random, crazy, wonderfully stupid level he trial and errors his way to some pretty good solutions. Probably most importantly, even when the level has just fucked him over he keeps it lighthearted and funny. Well played Scoops :)

P.S. Has anyone else tried/beaten it? I thought it would be sorta unplayable but apparently not. I have to wait a little while longer to buy my copy of Mario Maker but I'm interested to give it a go for the hell of it.

EDIT: He took another shot at it this afternoon, part 2 might be better than part 1 in some ways, some great discoveries late in the game haha... Part 2 link: http://www.twitch.tv/patrickklepek/v/17580570
