Lots of people like it, but personally I prefer not knowing anything about the colony before the marines get there. I don't want to see what it was like before, I just want to wonder.

Exceptions to this rule: the turret sequence in Aliens is pretty rad, and the chip extraction in T2 is a marvel of moviemaking. But definitely do NOT need a scene where everyone sings country music over the radio (Abyss).

I usually only include show notes for stuff that requires a visual, like a video we talked about or something. I don't think we mentioned anything beyond written articles unless I'm forgetting something, but if you'd like a link to something specific that we talked about I'd be happy to share!
