I was hoping this UPF would have the elusive target and Mad Verse, and hey, those were the two things played. Freakin' awesome! Love these combined coast videos so much.
I love the surprise "bait and switch" of this (freakin' hilarious idea), but yeah, it went on too long and we didn't see nearly enough dumb dialog in The Quiet Man as a result. I wish GBE streams were longer, and we just got to skim through the big cutscenes explaining this nonsensical game and the mom-girlfriend thing.
Oh man I was hoping you guys would play a classic Silent Hill game!! Can't wait to watch this weekend. I know it's a little rough now, but I have such an affinity for the original. The soundtrack is downright terrifying, and the PS1 graphics kind of have that old VHS video effect some old horror films have when it comes to looking creepier (when you're in the rusty/bloody Otherworld, mainly). Anyway, SH2 is cool, too. Definitely improves on what the original was, though I prefer the original's story.
On meeting Al Boreland from Home Improvement at convention for home expansion
Danny: "Richard Karn is doing a Q&A on what it's like being an actor. Also...he's an actor who once played somebody who helped with home improvement...he's not actually a...."
Dan: "He probably has a home...he has probably done things to improve it."
Love this series concept and can't wait to see 2! Maybe you guys could do one big video playing through some of the 'other' games in the series, like the GBA THPS 2, the PS1 version of THPS3 & 4, and that Xbox launch title Tony Hawk 2X as one compilation video or something? It obviously wouldn't be as thorough as doing the main series individually, but I feel like it'd be a good way to just take 20-30 minutes to check those games out since they're all based on the main games you'll be playing anyhow in this series.
Very cool! While I empathize with Dan in having very opposite tastes in SNES games, I love the idea behind this feature! Just a big buffet of childhood games in a backpack of nostalgia. Would love to see this across different console platforms with all you guys.
I love my translucent aqua blue N64. It's such an appealing color. This looks cool, too. Dark blue and gold? I'd definitely be down if I had the cash. I wish they'd launch "Day 1" edition of consoles with cool colors like this and no upcharge. I usually buy early and miss out on the neat colors.
