This game was one of my intros into more western RPGs, it has a really special place in my memories. That being said I tried to play the steam release a couple of years ago and was surprised how badly it held up. Not awful, but a lot of running around empty spaces and looting foot lockers. That and it always felt like it took a while to get started. Just like with mass alex I'm sure I will appreciate being able to watch someone else go through it again, though.
"Peter shut the fuck up" got an actual audible laugh from me. Very happy to see an extended civ feature on the site finally, maybe this will get me to get the latest expansion.
I think that with the map as large as it is, 12 civs might not have been enough to fill it. I don't know if it's even possible to go above that without modding, or how unstable it gets if you do, but I do remember there being problems if you tried to play on a map that was too sparse in vanilla Civ 6, it would stay filled with very aggresive barbarians for the entire game. Maybe that was fixed in a patch or expansion.
@kiruvi: This has largely been my experience too. I didn't think I would mind the one-island-per-switch limit when it was announced but the structure of this game has things almost like quests and as the second player on my switch, I have largely been missing out on them. I do get the town updates every morning but I haven't been allowed to place new villagers or contribute to the resources needed to build the new shop.
On our copy of New Leaf we played in the same town and while it definitely sucked not being the mayor you were still able to contribute to town projects and get most of the experience... but eventually we ended up just both playing as her character. Thinking the same might happen here. It seems crazy to me that the series has slowly making the shared-town play experience less complete with every entry, and buying a second switch, even a lite, is sort of absurd just to play one game.
If anyone knows, I would love to know if I did buy a lite, is there a way to move the save data for the town over to that system so my girlfriend could keep playing on her island? Would I have to move all of my other save data over too? She is the primary resident on the island so I think the save is technically under her profile but with all the horror stories I've heard about migrating save data on any nintendo platform, even the switch, I am not hopeful that moving game or user-specific saves is a possibility.
Haha, just watching this and it's pretty great to see Dan totally silent on the WWE game. Alex is bursting a vein he's so angry and Dan is just mum. If only we had read the signs
I immediately thought the voice actress of the protagonist sounded familiar, I thought it was the audiobook narrator for the Stephanie Plum books (a bit random...), but, turns out it is Lani Minella, none other than Nancy Drew herself! As well as many other video game characters. That makes two playdates in a row starring her.
