24 - season ending episode (S07E13)

You gotta be kidding me. Quinn disables Jack via some chemical gas, in episode 13, and doesn't kill Jack when he's vulnerable; instead he attempts to frame Jack in a murder.. what the F?

24 is so stupid. In episode 14, Jack kills Quinn..... Quinn, a professional, wanted to play patty cakes with Jack in episode 13? Why leave a loose end in 13? Very unprofessional.

The latest episode had a scene where a guard, of the port, helped the bad guys secure the trailer with WMD inside. The guard was then guided to "the back", by a bad guy, where he would "receive" his money. The common theme is that he'll just be killed rather than paid.

Fast forward in that episode a little and we learn that it didn't matter that Jack knew of the WMD and the bad guys or anything. The logic was that there was not enough time for Jack to inform the authorities so they could stop the attack... so why the hell would you want to take out the guard?? Because all other shows do it? It's silly, I think the writers just trying to fill in time.

Why put Jack in a situation where he could've been killed by Quinn? If Jack were killed the authorities would not be able to piece together further developments. What a dumb show.

If Quinn had killed Jack the FBI would have known that the situation was not over, and would presumably be able link Jack's murder to Starkwood. Instead they keep Jack on the run, and he doesn't communicate with the FBI because they think he murdered Burnett and Mayer, and Starkwood can continue to do their evil deeds without having to worry about the FBI getting in their way. Of course, they all underestimate Jack Bauer as per usual.

This is 24 you're talking about. Try not to think too hard about these things. If you've watched the show before you should know that it can get really ridiculous and sometimes people's motives don't always make sense.

They could link to Starkwood if Jack were taken out? If I recall, I'm not completely certain, the first reference to Starkwood came when Jack emailed a picture of Quinn to Renee, which occurred after the nerve gas attack on Jack.

I know.. it's "24", but still. When I see silly things, it reminds me of the old movies/shows where the hero would use a car door for cover from sprays of bullets and survive!  Some shows even now still use a plain car's door as cover...

This show 24 also plays a theme that "there there are people like Jack Baurer protecting you" . May make some of the populus feel secure. Actually I don't think one theme, there are more combined with this one, that may give the viewer the false impressions of reality.

In the old days the car's door was used as cover many many times, even if it were false because a door is just a thin sheet of metal, the movies using this concept over and over would give the impression to the masses that it were true. Myth Busters even did a segment recently to prove that the door would not stop bullets. It took Myth Busters to act and say "hey it's not real folks, regular car doors don't stop bullets" by showing it.

Seven seasons of Jack Bauer.... surely some impressions have been given that there are Jack Bauers protecting the people, when in fact there may not be. People like Bauer, in reality, may be paid off or taken out by people like Quinn.

I think you're looking way, way too deeply into this.  It's a good show, just enjoy it for what it is - entertainment.

^^ Agreed, the one thing that I don't get though is that he's saved the world so many times but very few people even within the government don't know who he is or have ever heard of him.

the rediculesness is what makes it really cool.  Just think about most really good action movies, like the Bourn series.  Those movies are so crazy that the craziness makes the movie even better
