I've spent my time doing lab work with Granblue Fantasy Versus. Is there any chance that the doctor-professors are working on any papers for peer review? There's some exciting work being done on CvS 2, I hear.
As someone that spent 600 hours playing DotA 2 and zero hours playing LoL, I'd recommend giving TFT a shot. It diverges heavily from the game it pulls its models from. The powers of heroes change from set to set, the powers themselves are not a reflection of the MOBA, the UI is better, it's brighter and more colorful, it communicates its synergies, abilities, and strategy better, it has a carousel mechanic that is unique, the games are shorter(or were shorter before Valve changed it to compete), they do sets of heroes along the lines of CCGs and LCGs, and the hex grid gives it greater depth with positioning. In my experience, you don't need to go to the auto battler that matches the MOBA you played. Some of these are just better iterated upon than others.
