Had posted this to Twitter, still pretty proud of it. Going to feel wicked bad when I get him murdered in a grizzly fashion. I will never get over the ridiculous inclusion of custom bios, it is just the best.
Glad to hear that Routine is still coming along, they've been radio-silent for an entire year now. Super nice to have a spoiler-free update, was expecting the next bit of news regarding this (and practically every game these days) to be a 3 minute story trailer.
Is there a Giant Bomb server out there, or interest in creating one? Been looking for a decent game, but the world is filled with scumbags. I've been shot plenty as BluFor, but only ever by BluFor.
Working on Gregor + Cherche, Donnel + Olivia, and Ricken + Nowi. Pretty much, for my main pairs, everyone is matched to be a powerhouse paired with a high-mobility unit, except for Lissa who just needed a personal bodyguard in my game. For example, Panne is exclusively a Lon'Qu delivery service. This is working out as I'm just now getting children characters, and Lucina is a killing machine sent from the future to bring down anything that flies, several times per round.
I took a hard-line stance against this on XCOM, but in Fire Emblem I will admit to a certain level of save-scumming. I've played a handful of Fire Emblem games, and usually end up with an A-Team that I like and want to carry with me through the end of the game. For example, there's a young Cavalier in Sacred Stones named Franz. No idea why, but Franz became my go-to-guy, and near the end of the game was a defensive powerhouse that could hold off an entire side of the map if he was standing in front of Amelia. I grew attached to him, and I did restart on the rare occasion that he received a ridiculous crit and died.... however, on the last map, I sacrificed him in a Rescue action, where he took a massive hit for Eirika (whose death would have caused me to fail the mission), and that just seemed like a fitting end.
My first run through of this game is on Normal/Classic. I probably will scum a bit, especially in an early play-through, just to hear everyone's personal stories. The reason for this is that while you get attached to your characters in XCOM as well, they don't have inherent character arcs, whereas the story for an XCOM soldier is invented by the missions they do and ultimately don't return from. (We miss you, Finn "Hoagie" Hagen, thank you for your sacrifice.)
I'm hoping they go full on into the cyberpsychosis side of Cyberpunk, where your visual augs start giving you hallucinations, and having a bulletproof particle shield makes you feel literally god-like... but that would involve messing with the player's perspective, which, as much as I liked the bit that I played of the Witcher, it doesn't seem to be CDPR's strong suit. The only game that's pulled off that level of player-manipulation was Bioshock, IMHO, and that only worked as long as you could avoid spoilers.
So, giving them the benefit of the doubt, along with my hopes, I don't want to know anything about this game at all... but I do want to play it.
My most effective weapon has been Dingoes. So far, it's happened in three camps. I use a close range set-up. Suppressed Pistols, SMGs, a touch of C4... give it that Burn Notice vibe. Anyway, I sneak into the camps, shut off the alarm, booby-trap the vehicles, and when I go to line up my attacks? *yip-yip-yip* "You took down an outpost without being detected, 1500xp awarded."
Vegetables. Ideally, I'm looking for tomato slices, onion, green bell peppers, banana peppers, and mild garlic. Around here, you can get broccoli-laden deep dish pizzas, and while I was sceptical at first, it is in fact awesome. Not a vegetarian, just don't like my pizza to be greasy, and pepperoni is like solid-state grease.
As long as it wasn't "candid" endorsements of a sponsor's products, then it'd be fine (ex: "I just with the codex in Mass Effect 4 could be more convenient, like the new Kindle En-Fuego.") A blocked out segment with clear "Thar be ads here" signs would be preferred.
