So, long time no speak...

... sorry about that, I should keep up with my posting and stuff.

Anyways, some people got their hands on Forza Motorsport 3 early, and one of those guys attempted to recreate the Hornet from Daytona USA using one of the stock cars in the game.

It looks okay, but as the guy there says, someone out there can do a little better, no? I've got my limited edition pre-ordered and paid off, and I can't wait.

So, any cars that you want to see recreated in the game? I can't wait to see the various Fast and the Furious replicars that will invariably pop up...

So, Sega Racing Classic...

I made mention in previous posts about a game from Sega called Sega Racing Classic. Well, an alert reader of the Sega Nerds forums found a piece of artwork that more or less confirms that it's 100 percent legit.

      OH, IT'S ON!
      OH, IT'S ON!

Just to make things more interesting, another alert reader of the Arcade Heroes forums was browsing the Raw Thrills website and found this. There's no way that it can be an accident.

I'm honestly excited about this development. :D

Slight correction to a post from last time...

Yeah, I thought the AOU expo was going to be this week, but I got it confused with the JAMMA expo. AOU is apparently going to be in early 2010. I was getting a little antsy when Sega made two Tetris games the centerpiece of their show, but my source reminded me that this wasn't the expo I was looking for. He also added that the new Daytona USA game he tipped me off to would be called Sega Racing Classic (Sega Europe filed a trademark for that name a few months ago) and that it would be more of a remake, not a sequel. That's okay by me, as long as Sumo Digital gets a crack at a home port. Maybe it'll end up like Sega Rally 3, where the existence of the game was leaked via location test before being officially unveiled.

In the meantime, here's one of the Tetris games Sega showed off at the JAMMA expo.

Random stuff of note.

I got a temp job today packing catalogs into boxes and stuff. Hopefully, it lasts for a little bit as I look for something more permenant. The paycheck I'm going to get for doing a week of that stuff should hopefully be enough to pay off my two preorders at the moment (Forza Motorsport 3 limited edition and the Tekken 6 wireless fightstick bundle).

And in the meantime, the AOU arcade expo is next week. Remember, I heard that Sega would show off a new Daytona USA game there. I'm so pumped. Here's a live look-in clip from Daytona 2. Return of the king, baby!

So, what am I doing?

Not much, to be honest. I was planning on completing my training and getting into my job, but something happened. Despite assurances that I was in the clear and that I got a certificate of completion, I didn't pass the final exam, so I'm out of a job. This sucks, obviously. Now I'm back to square one. The whole thing I find odd is that I was told I was okay, and then I'm setting up my workspace, then, I'm summoned to the boss' office and told "whoops, we made a mistake!" Does this strike anyone as weird?

Anyways, I do have some help with the local vocational rehabilitation office, and I have a good lead on a management training opportunity at a local Hertz car rental place. One door closes, another opens, I suppose.

But I can't get myself down on this. I just got to pick up the pieces and move on. It took 13 months between graduation and the job at the department of children and families. I have to hope that with vocational rehabilitation working with me, that it won't take anywhere as long.

So, how's your day going, fellas?

Weekend Time Waster: Ford Mustang Customizer

Hey guys, what's up? I had another employment training test today, and barely passed that one. Just one more computer test, then I'm on to helping people with food stamps and stuff.

Burn, burn, burn 'em to the cords...
Burn, burn, burn 'em to the cords...
In the meantime, I want to direct you all to a cool little thing on Ford's website. It's the 2010 Mustang Customizer. You can set a custom paint job, set one of the factory wheel options, put on a Roush Performance bodykit and a choice of spoilers and louvers, put on stripes and decals, and share your creation with the world. Hell, you can tweak other stuff, like the background and the burnout, and download a wallpaper of your beauty.

Here's a link to the customizer, and here's a link to my example. You can futz with it and come up with something equally awesome.

And in related news, apparently, you can buy a V6 Camaro through the cash-for-clunkers program. Too bad the SS model isn't qualified to take advantage of this...
