This game looks simultaneously overly complex and still boring as shit.
I find much like Destiny it kind of fits that "chat with your friends while having something to do" genre of game. The mechanics are fine, but it does have a bit too much downtime and I don't know that I have had it ever seem difficult at this point though I haven't even made it to the second area yet.
Yeah, if I get this game, it will be because I'm playing with friends and "shooting the shit while we shoot the shit" as Jeff says. Much like us playing the Division, or grinding in Diablo.
I'm just finding it conceptually weird to have this OS stuff around a fantasy game. I think they could've come up with a pretty fascinating hollywood hacking JRPG anology. Basically have all the same mechanics but travelling along the information superhighway instead of dirt tracks between medieval villages.
Isn't it a direct callback to early fantasy RPGs and text-based RPGs of the 80s and early 90s though? I don't find it to be conceptually weird at all. Brad even mentioned in the bombcast that it reminded him of old bbs door games (many of which were fantasy-based)
@bladededge: The previous Murder Island video was a lot of action as well. Better than this video (although this one was great too). Just as a heads up.
