Having spent a couple of years in Vietnam recently it's interesting how in the US, "Vietnam" is synonymous with the war as if thats all there is to the country, where as in Vietnam, young people barely even know about the war. Also there of course it is the American war, not the Vietnam war.
Who give's a fuck if we have chosen to call chickens a mammal or bird or what we as human beings have decided to consider important distinguishing features for animals. I think the Giant Bomber boys are just wilfully making fun of themselves and their not knowing everything about the world, because when you grow up you realize that no one really knows everything about the world. Personally I find it refreshing when people aren't worried about coming across as "dumb", most people just try to hide their "dumbness" because they're too scared to stick out from the crowd.
As for the moon gravity thing. Sure lots of people would think it's common knowledge that everything that has a mass has a gravitational force, and that the strength of the force depends linearly on said mass. Is this something that everyone absolutely has to know to live their lives? We all develop an intuitive understanding for how the physical world behaves in our surroundings and that suffices for most people to get by. Another thing, just because we have given the effects of gravity a fancy name like gravity, doesn't mean we suddenly "understand" it. After taking some physics classes, gravity is still just as magical to me than before I knew a thing about it, if not more so. We may be surprisingly competent at predicting how physical objects will act in the universe we find ourselves in. In my view it's still a big fucking mystery to each and everyone of us, and that to me is a beautiful thing.
