First Person Shooters I've Played and Loved

These are FPS games that I have particularly enjoyed over the years, and probably still would if I went back to them in 2, 3, 10 years. They are in no particular order.

List items

  • I probably played more of this game in my later years than when it actually came out. While the certain quirks of this game make it seem very dated compared to modern shooters, that's what appeals to me. You develop strategies around these things. Others will just give a "psh.." and declare it's not worth their time. This is a game to be respected. (that means you, Giant Bomb Staff..)

  • You don't see a lot of games made like Perfect Dark was made these days. It had a great lengthy and challenging single player campaign (story, characters, and level design). It pushed the boundaries of the N64 graphics capability (almost a bit too much). It encouraged skillful playing with plenty of unlockables. It had a full co-op system. And of course, the deep and powerful multiplayer. An all around Perfect package.

  • All PC games except 2141

  • The original, and Modern Warfare 2.

  • And most likely Killzone 3, but haven't played much yet.

  • Original and Source.
