@sethmode: don't bother, the BattleTech cartoon was cheesy as all hell and has not held up well. Unless you want to watch it just to meme the hell out of the thing. MY HOME PLANET!
@smellylettuce: I've seen someone keep Dekker alive, running around in a Firestarter when he also has Assault Mechs in his Lance, up to around the second Smithon mission.
Helps that he uses him mostly as a scout to Sensor Lock things for his LRM-boats between jumping between cover, and also as a bushwhacker to take out already damaged mechs with Flamer (or MG) assisted melee. Cockpit mods and Ace Pilot also help a lot. It's been working out for him pretty damn well. He lost Glitch though, to LRM spam leading to knockdowns.
Of course, this is PoptartsNinja, who's been running a BattleTech tabletop LP on the Something Awful forums for the better part of a decade now, so he's got a very good idea of how to use Lights to their best advantage in game.

Also Ikinari Steak at 15:17! Great cheapish Japanese steakhouse that's just expanding soon in New York, including a branch over by the CBS Building. They sell steak by the gram in Japan, but because we use ounces over here, they had to convert it so Americans wouldn't be confused. Also, it was a standup place with no seats, but that didn't go over too well in their first location off of Astor Place, so they put chairs in, dunno if that'll be their approach in the States going forward. Recommend @alex and Vinny check it out once it opens, or go down to Astor Place for a decent and relatively cheap steak!
Lastly, too bad this game was made before news of Okada's relationship with Mimorin broke out early this year and she could've been referenced, since Yakuza included idol stuff all the time. The Rainmaker and the Love Arrow sounds like a great mixed tag team.
@the_nubster: Yeah, in the first couple of chapters, some shit goes down in 1995 and Kiryu has to serve 10 years in jail for it, it's why he's on the outs with the Yakuza again. Alex makes reference to it right before Dan's comment on jail terms when they're talking to Reina in Serenity.
I really want them to do a BitE of this, preferably with Alex at the helm. I'll really be waiting warmly for it, even knowing it probably won't happen for a while, likely next year.

@fezrock: @fossas: Yeah, the info screens during the credits there just set up like the first 30 minutes of the first Yakuza games. Guess they're sort of a hook for those who got into the series with this game like the Beast crew or a wink and a nod to people who are more familiar with the rest of the series. It's like the mention the of the Empty Lot becoming Millennium Tower, people unfamiliar with the series would have no idea what that means, but those who are aware what goes down throughout the series there will probably find that all that went down literally on top of the place that Tachibana died (and might be buried) interesting.
@francium34: Majima wanted back into the Yakuza so that he can make it up to his sworn brother Saijima for flaking on him (due to Shimano calling him in) during their planned 18 man hit job, for when he gets out of jail.
