I bought a prebuilt pc with my chosen parts (graphics card, cpu, fans, etc.) back when the gtx980 was new and, after returning two to one company, came away happy with the second company I tried out. It'll cost you more money than building it yourself, but that's the price of convenience I suppose. I've only bought one pc from them and haven't done any research on them lately, so I'm not going to promote them here, but that's the direction I'll be going once the new graphics cards are more widely available.
It's weird how the Series X is much smaller than I anticipated and the PS5 is SO MUCH bigger.
I'm having the exact same reaction and it's hurting my brain. I pictured the Series X as a towering monolith and the PS5 as a normal sized, if maybe slightly bigger, console.
I loved Gods Will be Watching (64). The art style, weird storytelling, and consequences for your actions just really came together for me. If they would've tuned the difficulty and RNG to be a little less punishing i think it would have been better received.
I liked it because I bought my first PC earlier in the year that the PS4/X1 came out and this let me sit back and wait to see which console built up the most appealing library of exclusives. By the time the PS4 Pro came out there were enough games I wanted to play that it made sense to buy one. I won't be getting a console at launch this year either, so if they do the half-step thing again, great, but if not, I'll just get a base one that's probably been revised and costs less.
If I exclusively played on console I'd definitely care more, though.
Not really, last gen I had a 360 and when ps4 came out I picked up a ps3 to catch up on the games I missed. Around that time I got a PC w/ a GTX 980 that I'm still using (5 years old now). I picked up a ps4 pro (the Destiny 2 one) because at that point there were enough exclusives that I wanted to play, so I'm planning on doing the same thing with the upcoming generation. I just haven't seen anything that says I need to get in on this at launch, but over the next few years I'm sure there will be (or I really hope there will be) enough exclusives that I can't get on PC that I'll be willing to pick up a new console.
It's weird that as much as I like Microsoft's approach to this gen, that I have no reason to buy their console (because I have a PC) and regardless of Sony's approach to this gen I'll end up buying their console eventually because I can't get their games anywhere else.
