Game development continues to be a be kind of a lousy gig in a lot of ways.
I don't have any real context for how widely this news will be reported in Japan. Hopefully these revelations will lead consumers of the pachinko machines/ health club memberships etc. to push back against Konami. I don't really think a boycott of their games division alone would have the kind of effect that fans of their past games are looking for.
The anonymous sources from the Nikkei report deserve a lot of credit for sticking their necks out like this!
I am sad to see the Kinect go but it still seems like the right move to me. Price matters, and apparently Microsoft didn't learn Sony's lesson from last time around. I also think that the crazy success of Dance Central and Wii Sports will ensure that we'll continue to see weird peripheral experiments going forward.
Finally, because I am anal:
2nd paragraph: I've always like Kinect, warts 'n all.
3rd from last paragraph: developers who wanted o try
So I remember seeing this game on the now defunct Giantbomb X Gamespot Wednesday show. I'm trying to find it on the PSN store and it's nowhere to be found. The game's website has "Buy Now" links that resolve to nowhere on the italian PSN website and to a page on the italian Xbox Marketplace website.
Were any North America bombers able to pick this up? Did it ever get released here? Seeing the game played at the CBS offices suggests to me that it might have been.
Can any European user confirm whether the game is still available on these platforms?
I don't have an Xbox360 so I can't check the NA XBLA store, but can anyone else confirm that it's not listed on there?
I was originally hoping to pick this game up today but now I'm more interested in filling out the game's wiki page with a little more information. It's on steam now anyway, so I don't have to go without.
