Games of the Year of the Year Two Thousand and Seventeen

2017 has been a year for sure. Some might even say that Two Thousand and Seventeen is the best time to be playing the games of videos. Here are my best games of 2017 the year of our lord.

10: Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

I am a big fan of Lord of the Rings. I am a big fan of the Rocksteady Batman games. I am a fan of open world games. This game is a good combination of all the good things of those things and also a fun Nemesis system to mess with. The technical last chapter was not something I wanted to truck with so I didn't. I had enough fun with the rest of the game to not feel the need to slog through that stuff.

9: Call of Duty: WWII

I like Call of Duty for the campaigns, I am likely the only one. The last few got away from me, I did not like what Black Ops 3 was selling me and I skipped Infinite Warfare with the promise of going back to basics game my hopes up. Call of Duty: WWII tells a good WWII story and looks amazing to boot.

8: What Remains of Edith Finch

I was not expecting to play this game coming in to December but I am glad I did. What Remains of Edith Finch is a good short story told in a video game format.

7: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein II is a great story, with great characters and lacking gameplay. Typically I am diehard and will stick to the normal difficulty on games but Wolfenstein II on that difficulty felt like it was opposing the story it was telling about BJ being a badass Nazi killer.

6: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite games of all time, Resident Evil 5 was a fun experience that I was able to have with some friends, Resident Evil 6 was a sad sad excuse for a game let alone a Resident Evil game. Resident Evil 7 does a good job combining what I love in Resident Evil 4 with the tone and feeling of the early Resident Evil games.

5: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Hey open world game again, this time it's a shooty one. This game does not get the credit it deserves. I believe it was sold as a co-op game but really shines as a single player experience. It was fun just rolling around with my squad planning out how to use all my sync shots. It was a good combination of open world but also the Ghost Recon feel

4: NieR: Automata

I did not play the first Nier, I heard bad things about it but when the entire internet was raving about its follow up in Automata I had to check it out. The story is what puts it as high as it is as the combat and visuals are nothing really to write home to.

3: Horizon: Zero Dawn

I am a sucker for open world games as half this list is just that. With these games you can easily get fatigue but Zero Dawn with its non-shooter combat really kept things fresh and the story and intrigue kept me going the entire time.

2: Persona 5

No Caption Provided

These kind of games are usually not my thing but the Endurance Run of Persona 4 really sold me on Persona, Persona 5 does not live up to Persona 4 but it is still an amazing game and one of the best of the year.

1: Assassin's Creed: Origins

The year off really give Assassins Creed the time to breathe. The only Assassins Creed game I did not like was Black Flag but Origins is top tier Assassins Creed just below Brotherhood and 2
