I think you're extrapolating an awful lot from this. Most people are ignoring the fact that PT was frustrating and vague because it was intended to hide the reveal of the new game for as long as possible, which is something Silent Hills itself obviously isn't going to be concerned with, and they're focusing on the atmosphere and horror because that's likely the one element that will carry through to the full product.
There's absolutely no indication that any of the gameplay systems or mechanics of this thing are going to be present in Silent Hills; but it *does* show that the people making the game know how to be scary.
To me, Shattered Memories justified the identity crisis the franchise has gone through in recent years. I know a lot of people think of it as little more than an interesting curiosity, but I feel absolutely head over heels in love with it, to the point that I rank it as my second favourite game.
Now, that said. Am I excited that the series appears to be back in the hands of developers who actually know how to be scary? Hell fucking yes, I am.
I know this isn't directly on point, but that Wolfenstein comparison image really annoys me because the picture on the right is a CG render that's in no way indicative of what BJ's in-game character model looks like.
I just upgraded to premium through the site (not Paypal) and I can't access any premium content.
I've tried logging out and clearing the browser cache as per previous threads on this subject, to no avail. I've also tried different browsers (using Chrome normally) and accessing the videos on the mobile version of the site, none of which works either.
This and The Division look so good I almost have trouble believing they're real. It's not just the graphics, the production values on these games are through the roof.
