Auto-Tune, specifically, is horrible. Pitch Correction on the other hand is great. It's the "auto-" part in Auto-Tune that makes it so horrible. Pitch Correction shouldn't be thrown around haphazardly, otherwise it sounds like shit.

Now, Pitch Correction used for it's actual purpose can sound fantastic and has numerous great uses. I wholly condone its use. Used as a crazy effect, it can also sound pretty awesome if applied with care as to enhance the sound and turn the vocal into more of a synth than a vocal. I'm all for that too.

The sloppy auto-shit that the music industry throws around is crap.

btw. If anyone wants me to make a pitch correction / auto-tune demo, just gimme a phrase to say. :P

I like linear games.

I want a story - An AWESOME story. If the story is non-linear and has multiple paths, then it's logical to assume that some paths might be better choices than others, right? I mean, how could every path be equally as good? Why would I even want to pick the choices that aren't the best choice? I want the best choice, ALWAYS, so I get the most enjoyable game. I don't want the bad ending...or in the case of a game like STALKER, one of the 5 bad endings. I want the best ending. I'm also not interested in filler, such as quests that don't further the main storyline.

I'm also only ever going to play the game once. I might play it a second time some ten years later, but that's a rare occurrence. It needs to be a really special game for that to happen. Half-Life 1 fits that bill.

So yeah, I hope linear game stick around.

In the time that I've enjoyed the reviews and podcast banter from the Giant Bomb staff, including when they were Gamespot staff, it has become pretty clear to me that they're all into PC gaming. It's just that the interest in it has died out over the years. Not all the way though.

If I had to guess, they could be tiered like this in their passion for PC gaming:

Dave
Brad
Vinny
Ryan
Jeff

Dave being a PC enthusiast and Jeff pretty much not caring anymore. :P

Just a guess.

EDIT: Oh, and the reason for stating this, is a lot of the talk in this thread is about the GB staff doing something they aren't into with PC games coverage. I don't think that's the case. Dave, Brad and Vinny I'm sure can cover PC games just fine.

Wouldn't the hair grow back thicker? Through the tattoo? "

That's an old wives tale. :)

Hair doesn't grow back thicker or darker when you shave it.

Yay, interlacing! What a horrible horrible thing. I'm so it's going away.

Isn't that everything? I mean, what things do you plan on doing after you're dead? :P

How about THE SHOE? Dan Hsu. He was part of EGM and then 1UP. He's got his own site at the moment called Bitmob. I think he would be a good addition to Giant Bomb though if Bitmob doesn't work out.

Is there a question in here? :P

Yeah, things follow trends. One guy starts doing something and everyone else copies him. :)

One trend that's been gaining popularity is the "funny song" trend. Whether it's simply used for marketing or actually in the game somewhere, devs are putting more wacky - and often intentionally bad - songs into their games. As far as I can tell, Portal was the trendsetter for that one with, "Still Alive".

Not 100% accurate or anything, just what I can remember off hand:
Portal - Still Alive
You Have To Burn The Rope - End Song
Mercenaries 2 - Oh No You Didn't
FEAR 2 - Snakefist, Miniature Replica Soldier, Slo-mo Deathmatch
'Splosion Man - The Splode Beneath my Splosion, Donuts Go Nuts
DeathTank - DeathTank!
Plants vs. Zombies - There's a Zombie On Your Lawn
Wet - A Shot At Love

...and then some that aren't specifically linked to any game, just a game company, like the Insomniac video showing off their office environment.

So yeah...a lot of funny songs these days. More than I can ever remember aside from the awesome Segata Sanchiro stuff from Sega. :)
