Games made worse by slow-moving projectiles.

Ordered alphabetically.

Work in progress.

List items

  • There is absolutely no reason to have bullets this slow in a game like this.

  • Hitman: Codename 47

    Hitman 2: Silent Assassin

    Hitman: Contracts

    Hitman: Blood Money

  • Every single Gears of War game.

  • In the Mass Effect series you fight with portable railguns. Imagine the disappointment when in Mass Effect 2 the superaccelerated slivers of metal you launch at your enemies now move at something resembling a brisk walking pace.

  • See Mass Effect 2.

I'm actually surprised at some of these, I'm a videophile and FPS/graphics whore but I hadn't noticed the slow moving bullets in Deus Ex or Hitman. In fact, I know the sniper rifle with 2x zoom in Hitman 2016 is instantaneous from a great distance... so I don't know what this means in relation to that game. Are other guns not the same bullet speed (I know there are some of the silenced weapons that are super-supressed and subsonic to reduce noise even further, so those would be expected to have slower projectiles)... is it maybe those weapons you're referring to RE: Hitman 2016 in particular?

@zombievac: To be clear, this was written before Hitman 2016 existed so I'm referring to the older games. I have not played the new Hitman.

I'll edit the list to reflect that.
