My favourite games (in no particular order)
Rules:
- One game per franchise
While making this list, I found that I prefer the games that iterate on their predecessor to create a better experience than the original game itself. For example: The first Half-Life may have set up the universe and inspired countless other First Person Shooters but Half-Life 2 took that formula further and created a far superior game. Not just in the graphics - which is to be expected - but also in level design and storytelling. To take this example further, play the opening monorail sequence of Half-Life and compare it with the opening sequence of it's sequel. Both are meant to establish the setting, tone and atmosphere but the sequel simply does a far superior job.
Things I learned about myself:
- I love sci-fi games
- I love shooting things
