It makes you wonder what could have been if EL had taken a far different approach and been apologetic and projected some humility. Yes the split etc still happens and there is a big loss but GAF itself might be in a slightly better situation. Stepping down would have definitely been a big move that saved people.
I think I'll have to wait some time, like I said earlier, I got no non free email anymore. I don't feel like paying for an email service either, so maybe I'll just stay in the ether. Maybe not being able to sign up earlier meant I wasn't suppose to do so. Could have been a sign.
Based on his actions I would say that he knows he's kinda screwed and he's acting out somewhat. Basic backed into a corner and can only lash out behavior. There isn't much he can do at this point, he can't close down his meal ticket and having it up means he has to defend and ban people while behaving more and more ticked off from it.
@hirst: I think it's a fair enough shorthand, at least in the early days, to keep the 'riffraff' out, but I'd much rather just make a donation or something to keep the site up and running.
Guess I've got to sign up for an email service now then. I wish there was a list of approved stuff. I'd hate to start paying money for something that just gets rejected.
I understand the reasons, it simply irks the hell out of me is all. And yeah I rather give a little donation myself too.
The grace period for any email to be used is over, I haven't had a paid email in years now. I dislike that, a lot of us couldn't join up until this point, so having the option to use a gmail account taken away feels a bit....well you know.
@hirst: It was invite only for a while, open registration's coming still from what I know.
It was open last night but they had to shut it down due to server issues, plus a few pesky people likely took the chance to register too might have played an issue. So waiting I go again.
