After a ton of deliberation and overall procrastination on my part, I finally decided to pick up an arcade stick. It came in today!
I was trying to get a general feel out for it and such and dayum, It's fucking hard as shit on a first timer. I mean there are some simple combos that I just can't get out (read: landing a follow up after a jump in connects). Everything still feels very foreign.
Any stick users out there have any tips? Tricks? Any other people who were pad now gone to the dark side offer any personal guidance? I would love to hear from you guys.
Anyway I'm going back to bashing myself amongst the rocks until I get a feel for this $130 (worth it) contraption.
Consider that they also play dev builds on different profiles on different systems that don't necessarily track achievements. Also consider they regularly leave for press events to play games then talk about them when they return.
@Illmatic: I actually got the Hakan trial in the corner. I used a level 3 focus dash forward and used a level 2 focus for the second. The level 2 focus causes the dude to get some lift off the ground. That's when you ultra. Timing is super tricky but it's a hilarious set up.
I've picked Rose back up again. Coming back to Super is interesting. I still need a lot more practice and experience to even match up with most people.
As I continue to lose constantly I try not to let it get to me and I plan to commit to Super unlike my on/off dedication to SFIV.
So I finally popped in my copy today and went straight to Rose to see some of the changes they have made. I just landed a soul reflect to soul throw and i just flipped shit fuuuuuuck.
How about you guys? Have you been able to notice any slight or huge differences to characters you played with in SF4? Do you approve or rage at said changes?
EDIT: I swear I was in the SSF4 forum when I made this thread D:
