Games Finished in 2022

These are games that I finished during calendar year 2022. "Finished" means that I saw credits roll and/or finished the single player story. Games already present on another year’s list aren’t eligible.

An absolutely adorable game. Not a ton of mechanics, but the glide in this game feels heavenly. Worth spending the few hours it takes to complete.

Just a little game-let for the Steam Deck. Good writing and voice acting, but it’s more of a hardware test than anything.

Not as good as Until Dawn but still a fun teen slasher game/flick.

Such fun nostalgia. I played hundreds of hours of TMNT: Turtles in Time with my dad as a kid. It was a blast to play through this with him.

This one really scratched the OCD part of my brain. I completed this in 3 long sessions totaling 20 hours.

Played through the story missions with some friends. We had a 3-person crew but we made it work. A ton of fun. We’ll go back and play some of the procedural missions but I really hope they add more missions or make another one of these.

Played this on the Steam Deck (mostly when I didn’t want to sleep). Nice little tactics game. Characters have unique abilities and balancing their use is key in the puzzle-like levels.

Writing is rough, so I skipped past most but there is technically a story here. Single-player campaign ends kind of abruptly.

Oof. Not well acted, not well shot. Often you will be prompted with a choice, make a decision and then the game with prompt you with the same initial decision again. Why even offer the choice if it is not only meaningless, but pushes you in the other direction anyway? Also, some scenes you are pushed to by a decision seem to be disconnected from previous scenes. Very poorly edited.

I didn't get all endings for this, but I did get two. I will not be going back for more. I will, however, keep playing these types of games. When they're done well (or even just not-badly) I enjoy them immensely.

I love games that feel like time machines. This is a game reminiscent of N64 collectathon platformers, but somewhat modernized (thank you for the right-stick camera controls!). Nice and short, but super fun. Would love a longer follow-up, and I'll be checking out the original Kiwi 64 soon.

Collected all (?) 50 Power Stones.
