  • Persona 4 has been my favorite game of all time since high school. This tops it. It's the whole package: Visuals, audio, story, characters, combat, it's all there and it's all GREAT. Persona 5, don't listen to anyone else, you are perfect in my eyes. :'^)

  • THIS GAME IS SO CLOSE TO BEING PERFECT IT HURTS. Honestly, it this is the pinnacle of cRPGs. It speaks to me on so many levels and the combat is fantastic, but the last third of it is so bad it left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I am eager to do another run through when an Enhanced Edition cleans up those few bumps though.

  • PUBG is a testament to luck and timing. While it has it's jank and issues like any game of its genre, it gets just enough right to be a phenomenon. I haven't dived back in for 1.0, but my time in Early Access was the most fun in a multiplayer shooter that I have had since Halo 3.

  • BotW's world is really something special. It's the best open world game ever and I thought that was a genre I had had my fill of. While there are a lot of kinks to it, this is one of those games that will be influencing future works for decades.

  • A great story, fun gameplay, and BEAUTIFUL art direction. I blitzed (heh) through this game in less than a week, because I was so excited to see what happened next to my crew.

  • What a weird thing. Nintendo has had such a good year and Odyssey is a testament to their ability to take the language they have built throughout the years and go wild with it. It feels just like Mario should and yet every 5 minutes it makes you question what Mario game even IS.

  • War of the Chosen is some of the most fun I've had with any tactics game ever. I put about 80 hours in this year and I constantly think about going back to it. HIGHLY recommended.

  • I was raised on Mega Man and old cartoons.

This game is so much better in all aspects than it has any right to be.

  • Twin Peaks references, an improvement in basically every way to 1, and an actually good story. TEW2 was such a good surprise in a year of surprises.

  • Ugh, I went back and forth on this one. It's frustrating, long, and not as tight as 2, but I actually liked the way it wrapped everything up. It's a fitting end to the series and I have no idea how on earth they'd do another one, but I'd be interested...
