I bought the base Sims 4 when ig came out but the fact you have to pay hundreds for the rest of the content has stopped me from getting very far. Always wanted to get more into it but that has made it difficult
Yeah, that's the first thing that went through my head when I saw this video pop up, and it's sad because I loved the first few Sims games. I also bought the base Sims 4, but it was so bare-bones I never got into it, and the expansions are so numerous & pricey that I just stopped there and regretted not spending that money on literally anything else on my Steam wishlist. :/
I'll still check out the quick look; it sounds like a fun video.
If it weren't for the styyyyyyyle I might not have considered picking up this game! I love the default yellow color scheme, but it's also striking in black & white. Erica, you're awesome. :3
To mention an idea that briefly floated around during Math Blaster, an educational game stream could be some choice content. That flavor of feature is when I love this site the most.
This... thing... looks extremely my shit. It's killing me that I need to wait an entire fucking month before I can play! I guess I should be happy that it's getting a PC release at all, though.
Sorry, just had to complain into the void a lil bit, heh.
@sparky_buzzsaw: Everyone can probably agree there's no easy solution to the multiplayer problem what with the total market saturation, but your idea of having an Indie Game Hour would be a very, very cool thing. I'd love to see something like that turn into a regular feature-- maybe when they get some more staff on board?
@sparky_buzzsaw: Fair enough, but even so, when you're an unknown developer releasing a multiplayer-only game that relies on an active playerbase nowadays, you have to realize that you're going to need to hit a wildly impossible, insane streak of luck for it to take off in any survivable manner. I could be wrong in some cases, who knows, but it doesn't feel like a dedicated GB quick look would make a drop of difference beyond the week it was put up on the site, if even that.
Seeing Jeff pull out Tap Titans & make small talk was funny, but I do have kind of an overall weird/negative feeling about this feature.
@sparky_buzzsaw: With the exception of the Umbrella Corps game that Jeff mentioned releasing as a hot mess back in June/July/whenever, all of these came out at the end of January. A few launched less than a week ago. From the intro it sounded like they were all things GB maybe would have liked to have had a look at, but the lack of playerbase prevented it.
Some of these seemed kinda neat, and all except for UC were generally well-received. It's a rough situation.
Only a day later and I'm ready for a rewatch. Vinny + bad games for all eternity! Him and Dan have been pretty great together so far, as well. I loved the handful of bad horror game quick looks we got with Dan and Drew; it would be awesome to keep it going with gBeast.
