In a broad, general sense then sure, I'm excited to see what the future of gaming holds. So far though, there's practically nothing that's been shown that has made me excited for the launch of the next generation. A lot of the interesting stuff is coming 1 or 2 years down the line, which is fine, but the line-up feels extremely thin.

A lot of past console launches have game line-ups that look mediocre in retrospect but they mostly didn't feel that way in the moment. I can't help but think that the delays in development from Covid probably impacted the ability of MS and Sony to present a good show for launch.

It's really hard to get away from how perfectly put together A Place Further Than the Universe is.

@therealturk: Doesn't Yoshi in SMW just gulp down berries instantly without producing an egg? Don't see a reason why other food would behave differently.

Koopas are almost certainly bigger than hot dogs so I'm inclined to believe Yoshi would wreck Joey. The only way Joey wins is if it turns out to be true that everyone in Mario World is incredibly tiny, in which case maybe hot dogs are too big for Yoshi.

Quina is the true Glizzy Gladiator though.

I mean, it sounds like you're bad at Fifa. There's nothing wrong with that, but that's not remotely the same thing as the game being 'hard'.

Square Enix is probably unassailable to me personally. There's incredibly strong entries from a whole bunch of these companies but I'll probably never get over the weight of nostalgia from so many songs from the various FF games over the years, not to mention other standouts like The World Ends with You and Chrono Trigger. I mean, Nier Automata alone might be enough for me to say that Square is the best.

@martyns: Ah I see. It's been a long time since I played so I can't say I know what those steps are. I would guess if there is some unlock condition it'd be things that help you narrow down your suspect list, though I also can't recall what those conversations would be except finding the bullet in the fishing village house and asking the lady about it.

Turns out I've not unlocked enough of the game to activate the shivvers on the sign, so here I am.

Not sure what you mean by not having unlocked enough of the game so everything after this may not be helpful at all, sorry if that's the case!

If you find yourself unable to pass the skill check, pretty much any side quest located in the area or involving the area where the sign is found will lower the difficulty of the skill check upon completion. It's been a hot minute since I played the game but I seem to recall getting it down to where I could only fail with snake eyes.

If all else fails, kill time until Day 7, finding Ruby isn't actually mandatory. Read a book (no really, this progresses time).

I really enjoyed this game but I pretty much agree with this. I'd go a step further and say that the game would be a better experience if it didn't surface the scoring at all for your first play through the levels.

With how loose the controls are, it felt incredibly 'unfair' to be getting 1 star ratings the first time through levels. I enjoyed the game enough that I went and did all the score attack things and found it really fun when chasing score too, but as an audio-visual experience it would've worked so much better for me the first time round if it didn't tell me how bad a job I did after every level. Structuring the first play through without a level select would also have been a great choice I feel.

You can murder pretty much any npc you come across in Divinity: Original Sin 2 and just end up with empty towns.
