Now that I've watched your vlog:

  • Rant was okay, but Choke and Survivor are VASTLY superior.  Palahniuk is starting to lose his touch.  Then again, I didn't really enjoy the way that Rant was written...so that MAY have something to do with it.  Haunted is something to avoid like the Plague.  In other news, the movie of Choke was fucking awesome.  I recommend watching it.
  • Zombie BBQ = FUCK YEAH!
  • I will not comment on the chug...as I'm sure I'll say something rude and offensive.

Rant was interesting, it supposedly a set up for one or two more books so I can forgive some of the exposition in it.
I love Choke and Survivor, but Lullaby is actually my fave Palahniuk book. But he's beginning to turn into a one trick pony, some argue he already has.
Haunted as a whole is tedious, but it has some fantastic short stories buried in it. If there's one of his books to avoid like the plague it's Diary.
I loved the Choke flick. I'm a big Sam Rockwell fan and he was a great Victor. I was kinda skeptical cause I really didn't picture him like that.
Though my main complaints will probably be the amateurish look to it. I think it's the lighting or something.

I totally agree with you on Lullaby being the best, but I really enjoyed Survivor a ton as well.  Fight Club is still a damn good read, but hell...you can just watch the movie and it's basically the EXACT same thing, word-for-word, except they changed the way that Tyler and "Jack" met.  I still don't understand why they changed his name from "Joe" to "Jack", but whatever.


The only problem that I had with the Choke movie was that they took out the aliens stuff from Paige's character, and then they moved the headlight thing to the end.  Other than that, I can't really complain.  The reason it looks so "amateurish" is simply because of budget constraints.  I mean, the budget was SOOOO tight...the director plays the head dood at the Colonial Times rip-off place.  Yes, that was Clark Gregg getting pissed at Victor for having Ursula give him a handjob in the stables.

And Diary isn't THAT bad.  It's just not nearly as good as the rest of his stuff.  It's better than Haunted, at least.  The only good thing about Haunted was the first story...and maybe the one about the rich folks going slumming.  It still kind of irks me when people say that Invisible Monsters is his best.  It's a great one, but people only say it's the best because of the super shock ending!

Oh well...rant over.

I just found this again. I watched your video and during my comment GiantBomb went into its new format/update...blocked. Your DS stuff looked really good on your camera and I liked it, makes me wish I had  a DS for myself. Well... that and the awesome games that I haven't played on it and missed. Take care.
