I was all ready to play, but after the overwhelming (and exhausting) amount of info/coverage and Austin's take on it I'm a little hesitant to pay $60.

He seemed to feel that it was a little too mechanical, less organic than you might want out of a big open world game. Seems almost like a linear action game wrapped in the skin of something that purports to be bigger. Good story, combat and stuff, poor open-world dynamics.

And with all the coverage I feel too familiar with the game, it sort of ties into Danny's new series about mystery. This game had so much coverage for so long that I don't feel like it would give me much joy at all to discover what the game is. I didn't actively look for it and I avoided most of it, but a full week before launch I knew specifics about the beginning, middle and the end that would all have been great to discover myself (all technically non-spoilers). I feel like I already know all the peripheral unknowns, nothing left but the fine details. I feel like I would be playing microwaved freaking leftovers at this point.

And with BOTW looking to be the exact opposite of that, I can't justify getting this.

Still looks really well made. A lot of fun and really pretty. I plan on playing it eventually.

Too much action, not enough RPG. Looks good, just super sanitized and boring. And after the DLC stuff with the last ones, I dunno man.

@bezieh: I agree. I always enjoy when he's on. Not digging the constant complaints/negativity about him.

@monsieurdan: I don't know but it's so wholesome and pleasant. I'd probably get the soundtrack version of this.

@sasquatchdoobie: I preordered, but I'm not sure I'm gonna keep it. Given their proclivity to revise hardware, I'm almost positive there will be a Switch XL or even a (New) Nintendo Switch that fixes some of the battery/hardware complaints. Or at the very least a good bundle in a few months.

I don't know. I just hope they make good on games this time. I bought a Wii U anticipating an Animal Crossing for it, probably dumb to assume (Even though there was an AC on every console they have released for the past 16 years...) Maybe I'll wait for that announcement.

Until then I can play Zelda/Mario Kart/Splatoon on my Wii U. Zelda looks great, but the jump from Wii U (720p) to Switch (900p) is not THAT big of a deal. It's not like Zelda is 1080p60 on the Switch or anything.
