All that stuff is still skeezy as fuck though, I think they're taking advantage of the obsessive nature of a lot of people that play that game. I played a lot of Dota, and I feel I was lucky to not be susceptible to that shit, but a lot of my friends spent way to much money on garbage.
It's good they mostly keep the actual game pure though.
Edit: It's entirely possible my friends never regretted their purchases, "too much money" is just my opinion I guess
@grandcurator: Its really just about dota being disgusting. I feel like I need to drink after watching that segment, and I don't even drink. Buying levels, buying loading screen images, rare chests that give you a chance at rare items, etc, etc. I've never seen anything dota before and I can't believe that exists....
I think you take way too much from the silly Brad Dota 2 segments. Buying "levels" means literally nothing. Everything money-related to the game is cosmetics. Anything related to playing the game is completely free. I'm 100% down for more games selling cosmetics and saving me money by keeping the stuff I'm interested in (gameplay) free.
You just know the "conversation bubble" was a last-ditch 4 AM solution to some mysterious game breaking bug somehow caused by NPCs in the background of cutscenes.
@stanek1: Kojima seems to prefer pseudo-scientific technological explanations for things but, yeah, you could be right. There are plenty of unexplained things that could be magical/mystical. It's all so far removed from reality that I don't worry about it and just enjoy the ride.
edit: and I guess that ghosts are just a things that exist in that universe, but all* the superpowers etc. are tech based
@stanek1: The MGS universe is such fantastical nonsense that it's basically magic, but whenever an explanation for something is given it's always technology based, usually involving nanomachines (e.g. what @quantris said). Maybe the bees got infected with nanomachines when they stung The Pain and that's how he controls them?
This is great. I recommend Gunstar Heroes, for this feature, and just in general. (It has infinite continues though so maybe you'd have to do it in one to make it interesting)
