3ds Activity Log 2015

One of the great things about the 3ds is that it tracks your game time and how many steps you take with it on your person. Irreverent statistical data but it always interests me to take a look at what I've been playing over the past year.

New 3ds was bought in February? 2015 - week of Majora and Monster Hunter release but all info was transferred. Small sized 3ds with MH faceplate.

    In a shock to no one, MH is the most played game on the system. I don't think the environments are that great but the verticality helps. Looking forward to possible X release soon..as well as Stories.

    A poor man's Phantasy Star...or rich man's given how expensive the Wii version was for a while. It's okay but I don't like the combat and the storyline is..meh. The VO is also pretty terrible and not in the Inazuma Eleven hilarious kind of way. It's mainly the combat that ruins it for me though..hated FFXII, dislike this. Will soldier on through it in hopes it will change my mind. That said the technical achievement here - open world RPG on the 3ds is worth applauding.

    The first game completed in 2015, hence the short time as it spreads across years.

    I much prefer 2d Zelda to 3d Zelda...and it was nice to return to a Link to the Past era mechanics with added paper mario style puzzles. One of my favourites...even if it pales in comparison to Ys by a couple of magnitudes.

    Alpha Sapphire

    Another year, another attempt to get into Pokemon. It helped that this game looks great, plays well and that I can name characters after uni students (Kieren used sleep..it was super effective) but I just don't have the connection with the brand that most of my classmates do. The love for pokemon is strong in the Radio family.

    A game you can dip in and out of and still enjoy immensely. A rhythm game mixed with RPG featuring the FF music from pretty much every game (+DLC) it's great..no really. No complaints.

    I've played through 3, Devil Survivor 1+2, Strange Journey and of course Personas..but for the love of Chaos I cannot get on with the game. Everything about it rubs me the wrong way..it's just tedious and lacks the personality of the other games in the series.

    Sacrificed in order to buy a new 3ds - Level 5's cross between single player MMO style progression, harvest moon and zelda is pretty good if a little basic. I believe there's a sequel coming on phones, which makes more sense. That said 2016 is the year of Level 5 with all the games I've been buying lately.

    Only MGS I've never completed because it's a draaaaaaaaaag. I was determined to do so before the release of V and..shockingly..didn't make it. I find so many of the mechanics tedious that even the control changes (and minus level framerate..lol) don't help. Great story though...great story.

    Another game on the list of 'boy I love VNs..I should play some more'. Hotel Dusk is incredible to look at, with it's scrawled note presentation..it just got left behind in new releases. Will return soon.
