Games I Love

A compilation of videro geams that I enjoy. Probably way too much.

... in no particular order.

List items

  • Illusion of Gaia is an SNES Action-Adventure game that may or may not represent my love of narrative in media overall. While it's game play is slightly lacking, its success is in storytelling and character development. Deep for a 6 year old renting this game.

  • Overall my favorite Zelda game, and the reason I consider it my favorite series of all time (besides another one...). Although I admit the pacing of this game has given us the unfortunate pacing of other key Zelda games (OoT, Twilight Princess, and even Skyward Sword... kind of).

  • Everybody loves Chrono Trigger. If you don't, it's because you've never played it. That is all.

  • ... am I the only person who will claim this as his favorite JRPG of all time?

Really? I'm the only one? For all purposes, the game has a lot of problems. Way too many characters, a confusing element/ magic system, linear character development, and only 9 combo attacks. However, I love this game for its idea.

  • Best of the series by far. You don't want to know how many times I've played through this game.

  • My favorite game of this current generation. A fantastic shooter with a crap ton of bullets, amazing stages, and an amazing control scheme.

    In other words: Play it.

  • One of the most nostalgic games for me. My favorite Genesis Action/Platformer where you play as an Possum with a Rocketpack fighting an army of pig soldiers. One of Konami's best.

  • Best PS2 RPG and probably best PS2 game in general. A surprisingly deep, subtle, well thought narrative with excellent gameplay and chilling atmosphere. A must play for RPG fanatics of any kind.

  • While Ocarina of Time set the standard for 3D exploration, in my opinion Majora's Mask is the superior game. It takes all the gameplay elements of OoT and adds a dark, unsettling, and interesting world with Termina, a fantastic update to the mask system, and an interesting "3 day" time limit that can be manipulated and must in order to master the game. While there are only four dungeons, they are my favorite dungeons of the series. My favorite N64 game, one that stands above other Zeldas on its own merit.
