Personally I avoid Patrick's solo quick looks, I find them boring. And the constant attempt to psychoanalyze every aspect of the game rather than just explaining them seems to be one of the main contributing factors for me. A partner might help.

@belegorm: Actually the trend is going the other direction, with MS having its hand in so many development studios it has been trying to force the XInput only standard for years, and now with official x1 drivers out expect the trend to continue. Pure BS MS tactics but that fine, as long as DirectInput/XInput wrappers exist we will still be able to use our DS controllers.

@geraltitude: Some games being released do still support both standards, but that number seems to be shrinking especially games from Microsoft studios, you likely have not had experience with any of these games yet. Dark Souls 2 being the one that caused the most upset when released with only XInput support. But aside from this, even users that do only play DirectInput compatible games find use for the tool though, trackpad as mouse support being one of the most helpful features.

@markonfire: Small correction, Audio is not possible on PC, the DS4 firmware actually shuts off the audio feature unless the HID handshake comes from an actual PS4. The hurdles to get around this are no small task and of the other fork developers which I keep in contact with the consus has been unanimous that the work required to try to hack such a feature is not something that any of us want to undertake, especially on what is for most of us a spare time project.

@geraltitude: The issue is many games are now adopting XInput as the sole input allowed, well DS4 uses DirectInput, so that forces us to use a wrapper (like mine, thanks for the plug @chumley_marchbanks ;-)) or stick with a x360/1 controller. Additionally using the wrappers add more functionality than can really even be listed in a forum post, but I believe it definitely gives the edge to the DS4 over other controllers, in fact I've had users approach me who already have x360 controllers wanting me to make the controllers work in my app to allow them the extra features.

@liquidprince: not too concerned, it's my primary email for PR and work and is already all over profiles, forums and my website.

Thanks for the response, the email would have come from jhebbel@gmail.com, not sure why it wouldn't have made it through. I have not checked my CC statements since the original issue a month or two ago, but will check next chance I get. As for the chat I know there have been some intermittent issues, but I have had a 0 success rate since E3, and I've been through a format on this machine since then as well as had identical issues on my laptop, home, and office computers using Chrome and IE, the varying platforms giving the same issue is what made me think it was a account issue and it just seemed to line up with my account losing its premium status so I assumed, possibly wrongly so, that the two issues may be related.

No Caption Provided

When unable to get into chat when it was an intermittent issue, it would still show the number of people chatting in the top left, if I remember correctly. Currently it just always says 0 chatting. Not that I used to participate in chat much anyway due to it usually scrolling too fast to read, but sometimes its nice to have.

I've sent several emails since E3 about account issues I've been having to the support email address and have not gotten a response yet, frustrating to say the least.

Here is the email:

Lately since after E3 i've been having issues seeing the live chat. It always says 0 chatting and just sits at the "It's taking a little longer to log into the chat this time" screen for the entire stream. I haven't gotten into it once since E3. It may be related to an issue I had recently where I logged in once and noticed for whatever reason I was no longer a premium user, rather than go through support or anything I decided to just sign up for it again because I didn't want to miss a show about to go live, so I was double charged for that month, hopefully i am not just going to be double charged for every month from now on, but possibly that has something to do with whatever else I broke.

@lukeweizer: You obviously havnt tried our version if you dont think they work well then (http://dsdcs.com/DS4Tool). But they are to emulate a 360 controller using a DS4 Controller, because some companies only release their games to be XInput compatible (Microsofts scheme) vs utilizing the Direct Input mapping which was the industry standard until MS had to stick their greedy mitts into it.

@lukeweizer: It already works natively, "official" drivers are not needed like with XBox controllers that have no native support.
