I totally agree with 1 and 2. Elizabeth suddenly realizing reckless manipulation of space-time would get people killed was absolutely a facepalm moment.
And everything about fighting ghost mom is fucking stupid. The concept, the actual act of fighting her, it's all dumb. Just a few blemishes on an amazing game, though.
My dad died five years ago this July, when I was eleven.
To be honest, I'm not particularly sure how I got through it then. Like others have said in this thread, spending time with friends and family members(that you actually like being around, getting poked and prodded by my dad's abusive mother at his funeral didn't help any) does wonders.
Also, with any horrible event in your life, poking fun and laughing is more valuable than you can imagine. Sure, some of the people in this thread are cracking jokes that maybe aren't called for, but in my opinion, they've got the right idea. You know you've beat the grief of a situation when you can laugh about it.
As for the couple, they're not twins, they're the same person from different universes. One of them was born a male, one a female. They refer to each other as brother and sister because referring to each other as transdimensional =-doppelganger-slash-universal-equivalent is a bit of a mouthful.
I...have no idea how they conveyed that in the game.
I'm at what appears to be the end of the game, we're assaulting Comstock's ship, and I'm enjoying the game, it's just that I literally have no idea what's going on.
Is the whole thing with old lady Elizabeth and ruined future New York supposed to be what MIGHT happen if Booker doesn't succeed in getting her out of Columbia? What sort of stock do the english couple have? I think I get how they became trans-dimensional beings and all, and I've gathered that they're twins, and that they seem to be in a romantic relationship, although I'm not sure if that has any bearing on the plot.
Levine's always talked about extremism being the only bad sort of political alignment. The villains absolutely are caricatures of conservatives, where as the Vox Populi look like exceedingly violent revolutionaries. I think you're going to have equal trouble identifying with both sides.
