Hey guys. I hope you can give me some feedback on my plan for a midrange gaming PC. Starting with this Inspiron 620 MT for $599.99 (near the bottom of that page) I plan on upgrading the PSU to 550W and adding a Radeon HD 6870 and another 4GB of RAM.

The reason I chose the i3 rather than a better processor is that I will probably end up being bottlenecked by the video card regardless and I don`t use many processor intensive programs. The only downside I see is that I can`t upgrade past a 20 inch monitor, but I could always get a second down the road.

Any thoughts? Am I missing something significant here?

Pffff Montana? The only reason it's cold there is because of the wind from Canada. That's like standing in front of an open freezer and saying it's cold when a breeze blows some of the cold air on you.

-40 winters are common enough for a good amount of the winter and spring. Snow gets to about 3 to 5 feet tall on average and we STILL drive around.

All the while we have these running around the state.

We can handle any kind of apocalypse possible really. Except nuclear war of course... and that is pretty damn obvious why.

You southerners amuse me. Come to Canada if you want to survive the zombie apocalypse, we can just keep luring them North until we hit the permafrost, then go home because all the zombies are frozen forever.

If GiantBomb could somehow cut the "Internet" part out of their product, that would be fantastic. Why? Because the Internet allows for a bunch of socially inadequate, whiny jerks to interact with each other and everyone else.

I don't really care a whole lot about video games (i.e. nothing really upsets me, like Mass Effect 3's ending or what have you), but I enjoy playing them when I get the time. For the last 4 years, the site has served as a great alternative to TV; likeable "characters," content related to my main hobby, and a good smattering of comedy. We can discuss our subjective opinions in a civilized fashion, and if we can't change each other's minds, we can agree to disagree, and move forward as friends (if we mesh as such. Well said. I didn't realize it until you said it, but I basically just watch Giant Bomb videos instead of TV nowadays.

I'm playing Final Fantasy VIII on PSN right now... The mechanics are insanely dense but I'm really liking the story and combat so far.
