I guess I'll be skipping the first 3 days this year. See you when the Game Of The Year awards actually begin!

@frytup: Perhaps if you have nothing to add to the conversation that subscribers are having about content they care about and enjoy, apart from passive-aggressively insulting people, you should move on from the urge to post a comment. Nobody has been out of line here.

@gensmoth: You've taken my post as if I have tried to uncover some sort of scandal.

All I am trying to say is that one of the highlights of the year is cross coast content and that I feel monthly to two-month updates would be appreciated by subscribers regarding what they are looking to do around big events such as GOTY, Pax, E3 and premium features.

I felt I did so respectfully and politely without infringing on their freedom as content creators.

You've used the word explain in quotes when I didn't use that word.

They are not beholden to us, nor did my post suggest they are, contrary to your tone.

At the same time, the way that content creators and subscribers/backers communicate on the internet has changed massively in the last few years thanks to the rise of Patreon and such.

In an increasingly competitive environment for monthly and yearly subscriptions on the internet, sometimes I feel I am left a little in the dark about what to expect from Giant Bomb.

I am sure they don't need you to defend them, so enjoy your weekend.

The decision to make two q and a podcasts instead of cross coast ones is a bummer and wasn't really well communicated.

More site updates and communication on big changes from previous years would be appreciated. We all understand you are busy and it is difficult to get all the content done you need to do but I feel like there has been a gradual erosion of communication on what we can expect around some of the big annual events and what kind of premium series you have planned over the next 6 months.

Nobody needs anything fancy or a day by day update or anything crazy but maybe looking at how some Patreon creators handle this and give a general outlook of their plans and direction of content would be worthwhile. An email or update every month or two months shouldn't be too much to ask.

Stadia info:

There will be two tiers - a free and a premium service.

The premium service requires a monthly fee and allows you stream beyond 1080p, up to 4k, and get 5.1 sound and other stuff. At launch that other stuff is the full Destiny 2 package including the new expansion. It's likely that other games become included for this service in a PS plus style in future months. You can obviously still buy games at prices they say will be competitive with PS and Microsoft stores.

The free service doesn't launch until next year and only streams up to 1080p. Also no monthly games, simply the ability to buy games and stream.

Initially a Stadia controller and Chromecast is needed to stream via TV. The controller for this is wireless.

Initially the Stadia controller needs a wired connection to use it on PC/Pixel phones.

HOWEVER, you don't need a Stadia controller to use the service, any USB controller will work. Right now, the only way to get a Stadia account is by buying the package that includes the controller. That changes next year.

Ultimately there is no buy in fee to use the service in 2020 if you already have a USB controller.

Google does note though that there is special sauce in the Stadia controller that ostensibly makes the whole latency thing smoother.

I imagine the whole thing will change and adapt. As mentioned on the podcast the whole thing is very much a early adoption situation.

Also if you are planning to get it anytime soon you might not be in luck. The Founder's Edition has sold out and there seems to be a slow roll out of the new package they are selling (which includes controller and Chromecast).

The John J Kirby joke was pretty fucked up. Can someone tell Ben he doesn't have to try and be funny every 5 seconds?
