I have bought many games with an multiplayer (mp) component and i really do mean to play them, but unfortunately no matter how good they may be, i never do. Whether it be red faction guerilla, transformers war for cybertron, red dead, halo reach, MNC, cod, SSFIV, blacklight or even BFBC2; I find myself eventually getting bored with the MP no matter how good it is. Now why is this? Could it be the game sucks? Maybe. Sometimes MP is added just fill out a feature set. Thats not always the case. Often the MP component is quite good. So what is it? Low player base? Possibly, but not always. Mostly i find i want to play online with my "friends" and if they aren't playing it, then i'm not playing it. Now this isn't always the case either. So what is it? I guess the big thing is that when you play MP, whatever you're doing has to be FUN to you. If it isn't then it will get old fast. I like to play a team based game as a team. With everyone communicating and coordinating. Which i guess is why i play with friends because thats how we play. When you play with strangers there doesn't seem to be the same camaraderie or respect that friends have for each other. Too many people are jerks, bad sports or down right rude, and that get old too.
So i guess that sometimes multiplayer fails because of the game. Sometimes multiplayer fails because of the players. But if you really enjoy playing the game then the faults don't matter.
as you can see all us Canucks pays more per point then the Yanks. now i can understand if i was buying points in a store..... but online in virtual store for ?
any way lets ask microsoft.

i get the feeling that ms has a disdain for us up here or at the very least they don't care.
every week i watch the quick look for the new game room releases and every week i am left wondering wtf? game room could have been something truly great instead it's a great big steaming pile of shit. the games suck and they cost too much. they should have made it so all XBLA games are displayed in the game room, each having their own cabinet. fatal fury double impact came with cabinets for fatal fury and magic sword. why not just allow me to place them with in game room? my friends could visit my game room and hang out, compete for high scores etc. so i guess the question is when is Microsoft going to either kill it or give us something good?
I was wondering; Do smaller shooters (i.e. blacklight, cellfactor, etc.) have a place, next to halo, call of duty, battlefield, etc?
blacklight came out last week, i don't see a lot of players playing it. which is too bad because i think it's a pretty good COD clone. is it price? is 1200msp too much? too little?
anyway, if your looking for a competent shooter that's has some depth and is fairly cheap, give this a shot. you maybe surprised.
I'm not going to go in to a big spiel about the cost or the tech all I'm gonna say is this: i wear glass and any 3D tech that requires i remove my PRESCRIPTION lens is not for me. on that note the 3DS looks kinda cool...........
for those of you who complained about the price of the last two MW2 map packs being $15 but bought them anyway, shame on you. it doesn't matter how good or bad they are the point is if you want the price to drop the sales of the map packs need to flop. if nobody bought them then they would be forced to do something to boost sales. but enough people bought them that next time the price will go up or next time you only get four(4) maps.
this ones simple MS points should have some standard value. example: say i purchase $10 worth of points. i should get 1000MS points. see simple. but MS says 800points = $10 dollars. less in canada. Why? because you say so? since you want people to use the marketplace, shouldn't you at least have the points worth obvious. better yet why not just use money? PSN uses actual dollar amounts. so why not say i purchase a credit of sat 30 for $30(and that would be $30 regardless of whether i'm in the US or Canada). or you could just charge my credit card that works too.
if i buy a game used or rent it i shouldn't have to pay extra to unlock feature of xbox live, unlock achievements or have a feature of live disabled. i understand why EA, Activision and THQ are doing it but i think Microsoft should them off. i should be able to enjoy the game how i want to. if that means buying it used or renting it then so be it. in MW2 infinity ward disabled party chat, a feature that you get when you pay for live. EA disabled pretty much all of the social stuff in skate 3. unless you bought new, you have to pay for it. and the same thing for THQ's UFC 2010 if you don't buy it new you have to pay for multipalyer.
that's the bad news. we can stop this trend! we have to tell game companies that this bullshit is unacceptable by NOT buying the games.
