Is District 9 scary/overwhelming? (Blog post) (:P)

Sorry to bring up yet another thread about this film, but I didn't want to read through the other threads in case there were spoilers.

The reason I'm asking is because I have a little anxiety, and if I see a movie that is too scary, whether I like it or not, I to get too anxious to keep watching. It really sucks, and although I'm getting better at calming myself down, I just wanted too see how the GB people who've seen the movie feel about the movie's scariness.

I don't know, I was fine when watching Quarantine, The Ruins (that was more of a comedy though, ahaha), and Drag Me to Hell (also turned out to be a comedy).

This is kind of embarrassing, so please not too much flaming :P

Giant Bomb, let me inside you. (Blog Post) (:P)

I just finished watching a "mail day" video in the features section, and thought since I live in the same city as the GB guys now (San Fran.) (Yes, I call it that, and no, I don't care how stupid it sounds), I could send something snazzy to their headquarters.

The problem is...where exactly do they live? If someone could tell me, that would save me a lot of time aimlessly walking around the city.

Also, to make this more intersting and easier for me, feel free to offer suggestions for what I should send them. The person with the best suggestion will be mentioned in the little card or letter or whatever I send along with the item(s).

Thanks.

Hello GiantBomb! (Blog) (:P)

Haven't been here for some time, just wondering how everyone is doing!

I see the top posters have 8,000 posts! Holy shit man, and I thought I had a good amount.

I'm bummed I won't be able to play new releases along with you guys (didn't bring my 360 with me to college unfortunately) and I'll especially miss my Street Fighter IV gaming sessions....*scratches neck nervously* I need my fix, man! :P

And also a very BIG Happy Birthday to the GB site! (or was that last month?...) Either way, congrats on 1 year guys.

Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I'll see some familiar avatars around, and more hopefully people will recognize mine. Adios!

The Quest for the Fight-Pad (..and you thought YOUR day was bad)

So I decided to spontaneously call around 15 stores today, hoping they had a 360 SFIV Fight Pad/Stick. Here are my results:

Gamestop: Didn't have jack shit. In fact, out of the 5-6 stores I called, 3 of the guys who answered sounded pretty irritated.

Best Buy: Apparently, "Geek Squad," you know, the supposed "Squad" of "Geeks" that is supposed knows a thing or two about "geekery" things, didn't know what Street Fighter 4 was. They kept transferring me from one person to the next, but all of them simply responded "Uhh..I don't think we have that OLOLOL." I called 3 stores by the way.

CompUSA: Although it says on their website that they carry the controllers, the people I spoke with said they don't sell video games. I called 2 stores.

Target: The most painful of the bunch. The people at the electronics department didn't know what the game was and were dumbfounded when I mentioned the word "joystick." Called 3 stores (which was 3 too many).

RadioShack
: Had the same story as CompUSA, but afterwards telling me to buy a discounted walkie-talkie instead. Called 2 stores.

Toy's 'R Us: Probaly the friendliest of the bunch. The guy told me how they were out of stock and blah blah blah but at least he wasn't a dick about it and explained to me how they were expected to receieve more blah blah and check back in a couple weeks blah blah and then told me to have a "great day," which was pretty nice :)

Walmart: Almost, almost as painful as Target was, but I didn't even get to speak with anyone. I told the lady who answered right away to just, for the sake of baby jesus,  transfer me to electronics, but she of course persisted and asked me "well maybe I answer you question OM NOM NOM" I politely said "you probably wouldn't know what I'm talking about" but she wouldn't let it go so I told her the situation and, after a long, paaaainnful moment, she said "..let me transfer you." But they were apperently busy so I hung up. Called the same store 3 times believe it or not >__<

GameCrazy
: Now here's a real contender. I called 5 stores, and 2 of them had actual FightPads in stock! Unfortunately the 2 stores that had them are roughly 10 and 14 miles away from me. The 10 mile store has the last Chun-Li pad, and the 14 mile store has three Chun-Li pads for 360 and one Akuma!!! pad...but for the PS3 >__<

I was was really close to just saying "fuck it" and driving 10-14 miles for a controller. But I've come to my senses and told myself that that is just too far of a trip for this thing.

Guess I'm sticking with the 'ol X360 pad for now :\

(Also just realized I called around 23 stores oO)

I think I fucked up.

So I was at a GameStop at the Union Square today, and I noticed that they had a sale for a lot of games, including for the DS. I have been craving a DS game for 6 months now, haven't played any game since Pokemon Diamond, and I saw Chronno Trigger on sale for $29.99 and Metal Slug Collectors Edition for $14.99.

I was very close to purchasing them both, especially CT, since I have never played it before, but I decided to hold out for an R4 card (sorry if discussing this is not allowed.)

But now I am really in the mood for some CT, and I'm considering on purchasing it tomorrow.

What do you guys think? Is it worth the $30 bucks?

"Not Our Problem" - Microsoft Customer Service Representative

**Disclaimer: Rant Incoming**

I actually don't even know what to say at this point. This has been one of the most frustrating 4 weeks that I can recall. Here we go:

Zune Epidemic

I can honestly say I love my 80 GB Zune. I take it everywhere I go, constantly listening to my favorite music as well as the good 'ol Giant Bombcast. But good things never last, or something along those lines. Yes, I dropped my Zune. And yes, the screen went black, accompanied by a heavy dent on one of the edges.

I called them up, told the problem, and they sent me a coffin for it....5 times. This is really mindblowing. I'd at least think they would have the courtesey to turn the damn thing on before sending me a Zune, no, 4 Zunes, with some kind of Hardware or Software problem. Two of them had so many dead pixles that the Zune logo at start up was barely recognizible. The third one was dead before I even opened the box, and the fourth one has defect left and bottom buttons on the Zune pad, but of course MS doesn't see that as a "defect" at all. Now I have to soley relly on the touch pad. Oh joy.

Xbox MADNESS

Miscrosoft. Doesn't. Fucking. Cover. The. E 74. Console. Error.

It seems that the warranty, you know, that thing that makes it ok if your item implodes on you? Yeah, it seems it only applies to one of this bastards problems: RRoD.
So it kind of felt like a bitch slap in the face when the customer service representetive, mind you the same one I spoke to earlier in the month about my Zunes, told me "It's not our problem. Go to the website and pay the fee for repair." Oh and the fee is $100.00 + tax, which could be up to $30 more. Did I mention this is my third Xbox?

So right now, I have a defected Zune, a console that I don't have the money to repair for (bought Street Fighter IV 2 days ago....which is just the icing on this shitcake) and I don't know what to do next.

My gaming days are over...for now.
