Well with the end of the beta coming I have to say that I am incredibly hyped for the full release. I enjoyed playing PvE in an FPS for the first time in quite a while. The shooting feels great and each weapon has a feeling of weight to it that I really enjoy. The comparisons to Borderlands have some foundation as there is a lot of structure that is rather similar, but the primary difference is the gunplay itself. This is the most important thing to me so I am ecstatic about this fact. I have always wanted to like Borderlands because it does so many things that I should love, but actually playing the game always leaves me cold. Playing Destiny was a joy for every second that I was doing so.
Also if what was shown of the Moon is any indication I am really looking forward to future environments and areas. All of the Hive stuff is super cool, and I'm excited to play the rest of the Moon missions to see all of it.
I also really enjoyed The Crucible. Once I got into it, the similarities to Halo are there to see far and wide. I at first felt that there wasn't quite enough survivability, but once I got used to the feeling of everything I really got into it. I ended up playing about 30 games or so and really enjoyed it.
I do have some fears and they seem to echo what most people are feeling about the game. For one I'm worried there's just not going to be as much content as I'm hoping for. There are the planets they are speaking of which should be cool, but I hope there's more to them then there is for Old Russia. If not I'll still be satisfied, but feeling a bit unfulfilled. The story and dialogue also feel disjointed and kind of nonexistant. The universe they are building seems super interesting and cool to be in, but the way they are conveying what you are doing is a bit forgettable even by MMO standards.
Overall, I am very excited for the game even if I have a few concerns for the final product. It's definitely going to be a long month and a half of waiting.
