Welcome to the new Critical-HQ website. It’s not perfect and it’s not what we want it to be but we wanted to get some sort of website up that will help us direct any new players to files, patches, tutorials, etc. The site will slowly expand and evolve over time.
So let’s face it, ArmorCritical has been in a slow fade since the conclusion of Gladiators. Keep in mind about a year ago a successful league on this game seemed about as likely as the operations team making an admirable return. Okay, that was a low blow. It’s easy for everyone to rip on the owners but just remember they kept the game alive and continue to keep the game alive by funding the servers. If we want the game to move forward in any fashion it is up to the community whether you like it or not. Hail Godoacer.
Here’s one of my last ditch effort ideas I’ve floated around to a bunch of players and everyone seems to think it’s a good idea. The plan is to run a minimum $500 CTA 48 hour marathon tournament where the top 5 to 10 in total wins will get prize money. The main goal is not for the best players to win but for us to expose the game to some new players as we would have some sort of social media push to get some people to show up for the marathon (people like free money and games). I think we are all confident in the game’s potential otherwise we wouldn’t be here. The thought is we get enough players on here get them playing the game for a weekend and I think we have the potential to retain some of these players. Worst case scenario, we have a fun tourney marathon for our community and some people win some money. We would structure so we have enough refs around throughout the 48 hour window. I am going to start discussing dates with the refs and start to narrow down the options and then move forward with pushing the event on twitter, reddit, etc.
I am going to open donations within the next day or so for this event and I think we are already at around $250 based on the few people that have already offered to donate. Please donate if you can as the bigger the prize amount the easier the draw will be. Please keep in mind if this works at all we could have lots of new blood on here so please act like sane human beings if possible. I am thinking the week of the tourney we run a “training” day the day preceding the start day for any new players looking to practice before the event (especially new players). There will also be some CTA staff structure changes soon along with some open spots that we hope will land us some qualified candidates.
