Two points here:

1. I don't understand how people figure out the weapons secrets of DS. For example, how did anyone figure out that shooting the dragon's tail 20 times would yield the drake sword? It seems highly unlikely anyone would stand there and shoot its tail that many times. Me, I would have shot the tail three times then given up. It makes me think someone has inside info on this game leaked from a developer.

2. I love DS's lack of maps, info and everything else. I also hate it. Info for weapons/armor upgrades is almost non-existent. If I didn't have this forum, I would've had pockets stuffed with titanite and little clue how to use it. This is where DS gets too secretive. They have to let the gamer know something about upgrades. As you progress to Sen's Fortress, you have to upgrade to deal with the increasingly tough enemies.

Let me see if I'm reading the chart right; if I have a normal +5 weapon and 10 green shards, Andre can upgrade it to divine +5?

How do chunks, slabs and chards differ? I have a lot of chunks but the Undead Paris blacksmith won't upgrade my weapons or armor. Same story for the smith behind bars at New Londo Ruins.

I'm at a loss when it comes to the weapons/armor upgrades. I have a +3 axe, +3 long bow, +2 leather armor. Supposedly I can max them out to +5, then go to the next level. I'd like to know how to make the most of my titanite.

I want to get beyond the ole' drake sword, maybe try a spear or continue w/my reinforce axe.
