I remember playing Metal Gear on the NES and there were no new MG games until Metal Gear Solid arrived in 1998 for the PS1. Playing MGS 5 gives me an eerie but satisfying feeling of coming full circle to where the current (Punished) Snake becomes the legendary enemy, Big Boss, whom you fight in the Nintendo version. Also, after I saw an image of an expanded mother base, it looked just like the base Snake infiltrates in MSG 2 for the PS2. Did the developers intend that the Mother Base that Big Boss/Snake builds in MSG 5 is the actual base the other Snake infiltrates in MSG 2?
a philosophical thread on the msg series; i remember playing metal gear on the nes and there not being any new ms games until metal gear solid in 1998 for the ps1; playing mgs 5 gives me an eerie but satisfying feeling of coming full circle to where the current (punished) snake becomes the enemy big boss whom you fight in the nintendo version - pretty weird; i also saw a picture of an expanded mother base, and it looked just like the base you infiltrate as snake in msg2 for the ps2; did the developers mean that the mother base that big boss/snake builds in msg5 is the actual base you infiltrate in msg2?
moved on to mission 2, where i had to eliminate/extract the spetznaz officer; the fulton thing was working fine so looks like i'm ready for more intense tactical espionage action
that's what i'm talking about; i rescued miller and returned to the area but it seems like the side mission to extract this guy is beyond my current abilities/equipment; it just doesn't feel right
i got the device from ocelot and the sky was clear, it was the heli landing pad where ocelot teaches you how to use it; i knocked out five guys and ocelot keeps saying "okay, go on and extract them" but i can't
