Find some friends/people who can join you do all the grind (bounties, daily missions, weekly strikes, weekly nightfalls) to get better gear. From what I've learned in playing Destiny for about a month now, you'll enjoy the game more playing with other people than doing the grind by yourself.

I've only tried Crota's End about 3 times, but never finished it and I barely understood what the hell was happening.

I haven't tried VOG yet so I'm willing to do both anytime and go through the learning process of finishing the raid! :P

@thegoldencat7: I'm totally down with this idea!

Also I just picked up my copy of Ultra today. Lets get to fighting NERDS! @pessh@dbz1995@lilbigsupermario

Don't know if I should continue to play Abel or not. Maybe I'll move to high tier and just play Yun/E.Ryu

YEAAAH!!!

I may be sticking to Makoto and trying Yang as a secondary :P

I'm having the same problem as well with mana. I just keep going back to the lake behind Al Mamoon to get the spring water thingy for MP hehe!

I also captured the bonehead familiar, but he's not very useful as of now. He's slow and has bad accuracy. I'm still leveling up his attack though so it may take some time. Mite is still the best in physical attacks for me too so far

Around 12 hours in, currently in Al Mamoon doing side quests and capturing familiars. Next goal is to go to the volcano area. I have Oliver's Mite, Esther's Drongo, the monkey, the green small fairy, the skeleton familiar, the Naiad, and the sun. I also got the babanas-looking familiar and the one with the purple turban because of the side quest.

Still have a couple more side quests and bounty hunts to do before moving forward to the volcano area. Game is awesome! :P

I'm 12 hours in so far (haven't given it too much time lately).

If you like JRPGs and you like Studio Ghibli, then get it, I'm sure you'll like it. Story-wise, it's Studio Ghibli style, young main character on a fantasy and whimsical quest that usually has a heart-warming story with morals in it and interesting colorful characters. Presentation, it's awesome, looks really good! Gameplay, it doesn't really bring something new, it's like a mash of Pokemon (due to use of familiars) and Final Fantasy 12 (due to the battle system where you control only one character) but it's fun and challenging.

If you're a child at heart and plays JRPG, then you'll definitely like it.

Turned the guiding star off. It just makes the exploration more fun and it makes me think what I should do next. The game already has a lot of hand-holding and usually, the dialogues are pretty obvious anyway on where you should go next so I'm fine with the guiding star off. :)

You just have the options to go all out, make them attack the leader's target, a different target or find the weaker opponent. You can also make them not do anything or provide support. That's pretty much it. It's not as complicated as other RPGs where you can specify the HP percentage when they will defend or use healing or items to heal themselves.

I'm not that far yet in the game, but I've been reading that it's either you learn to switch among the different characters which makes the combat frantic (so far this is what I'm doing with Oliver and Esther), or you just equip them with familiars that fit them or are strong enough to fend for themselves. The AI isn't that smart, so you just need to manage them a bit and check their health and magic quite often.

And the game is awesome and fun. :)
