Switching it to Easy may get you back in the game and enjoy the story more. But I read somewhere that it's not a lot different than Normal, they say it's just like 20% easier I think. Then again, that may still help.

I'm loving the game so far, but I'm still at the start, just 6-7 hours in and just got Esther hehe!

wow, that's good to know, I didn't know there were hidden items on the map. I have to start reading the in-game wizard book...

Bought this game yesterday and I'm really liking it. I felt the same interest and fun I had when I first played FFVII on the Playstation. I haven't really played a lot of RPGs recently since the PS2 days, but this one really got my attention.

If you're a Studio Ghibli fan, you'll definitely like it. If you're into the old-school style of JRPGs with world maps and stories that are balanced with seriousness and some jokes here and there, then I'm sure you'll appreciate Ni No Kuni.

I'm just a couple of hours in the game and I can't wait to play more. ;)

Congratulations on your Dark Souls purchase! It's an absolutely excellent game!

Try not to go through a lot of videos of the game in Youtube or read spoilers. Not knowing that much is part of the game's charm. You learn the world through exploration and experience, it's awesome. :)

As for mechanics, it's not a hack and slash fast-paced type of game. It's a very methodical RPG that has an old school style to it. It requires patience, learning, dedication and a lot of free time. It's very rewarding though, you just need to go through the game with a slow-medium pace. It's not that type wherein you barge into a door expecting to slash every enemy inside with one blow, it's a thinking game.

As for difficulty, just like what others mentioned, it's not really that difficult. You just have to make sense of what's happening around you on why you're having a difficult time. If you can't beat an enemy, level up or find a better weapon or maybe he/she has a weakness. Can't seem to get a hit, try rolling or parrying, etc.

So good luck and I hope you enjoy Dark Souls! It's awesome. :)

Sure, I'll fill your survey. Just because DaS is my favorite game ever.

Done. I called the game tedious and dependent on repetitiveness!

Your opinion sucks. The game can be tedious and repetitive but that's your fault. Not the game's.

Farming for souls is always tedious and repetitive no matter how you put it. You need to up your stats to use that sword you just made with a demons soul? Well guess what, you're going to be killing shit then running back to the bonfire and kill shit again. Thats the least of Dark Souls' problems though and I say that as a person that more or less enjoyed it although not as much as the first.

I have played the game for 200+ hours on the 360 and the PC and finished it with 3 characters and I never ever felt the need to grind souls. It is absolutely not something you are required to do, although some people play it that way.

Just the fact that, in order to get used to the mechanics and memorize the animations through trial and error, I had to repeat the goddamned same bit where I spawn at the same bonfire and fight the same enemies (who always spawned with me) maybe 40 times in total (after which I uninstalled the game), is enough reason for me to say in confidence that this is shitty game design.

Don't all (or almost all) RPGs require tedious grinding? I remember playing FF8 and doing a lot of back and forth to that island where you can gather a lot magic stuff. And in Symphony of the Night where you had to kill the same enemies over and over again to level up. Not sure though, maybe it's just me, but I kind of felt that farming in Dark Souls is similar to other RPGs I've played.

But then again, that's your opinion and I respect it. Maybe you just don't like the game and it's not your type. :)

I understand what you're saying but I'm not even talking about grinding. I'm talking about the fact that in order to progress in the game, in order to go from bonfire A to bonfire B, you need to fight the same battle 20 times until you memorize every enemy's location, combat animation, moves and speeds until you're able to survive 5 consecutive fights.

I'm sorry that's just too much shit to take from a video game. But it is indeed my opinion and I'm glad to know that the game provided you with quality entertainment.

Hehe, yeah, that's why I've always seen the Souls games as a game that requires patience and a lot of free time lol! So I guess it's just not your type of game.

Good luck to you though and I do hope you get to give Dark Souls a chance again sometime, maybe you'll appreciate it by then. :)

I played arcade mode at Medium difficulty and Unknown is kind of dumb defending up-forward launcher kicks. Then do a bit of air juggle and maybe do a bound to do a bit more damage. Try to kick her as far as possible then do a running kick thing. If she blocks, do a up-forward launcher thing again.

How come I didn't have any problems beating Unknown? I used Lili and Jaycee team, I just launched her into the air, do a few juggles and a short tag combo. It actually worked for almost all of the AI opponents I fought. Maybe I was playing at medium difficulty?

I had a difficulty with an AI Miguel and Christie team. I just hate the Christie/Eddy capoeira fighting style...

It's frustrating to lose to an AI opponent, but come on, it's not that bad. That just means you may need to change tactics a bit.

I definitely agree with the Demon's Souls end part with the Maiden in Black. It's a much more dramatic and memorable finale than Dark Souls' linking of the flame thing. I mean, she helped you all the way from start to finish! She has become an inspiration to move forward and fight through those dreadfully difficult worlds! Too bad though, I did kill her... :(
