Symphony of the Night is still probably my favorite game to this day, and I think it holds up really well, especially compared to just about any 3D game from the same system.
If I'm playing any game online with an ability to talk, I instinctively spam the hell out of it. It's gotten me kicked out of a lot of Left 4 Dead games. But what doesn't, with that community?
I'm usually just playing a quick couple rounds of raid mode in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 when I have the time. Though it's so addictive I usually waste more time than I intended.
When you're behind a generation, you generally have no other choice, unless you want to buy some unsealed copy a guy on Amazon has been hoarding, but it's not going to help support the company so why bother?
I watched Robot Carnival recently, and I'd recommend people check it out, especially if you liked the similar movies Memories and Neo Tokyo. It's different in that instead of three short films, it's made up of 9. Which sounds like it should be a mess, but ended up being a really enjoyable film. Admittedly, they're of varying quality, and I think it started off stronger than it ended. Presence alone makes it worth watching, with a great story and probably the most beautiful animation I've ever seen. And the composer Joe Hisaishi did an amazing job again with this soundtrack.
